UNCW Coaches Tour

This is a pretty cool idea. However, I'd like to see a stop or two outside of Wilmington where a lot of UNCW alumni reside like maybe one in the triangle and one in Charlotte? This goes back to the conversation on the other thread about marketing. They are the only show in Wilm, but they need to get the alumni that don't still live there excited too.

UNCW Coaches Tour
In past years there have been such events in the Triangle and Charlotte areas. I don't know why they are not planning them this year - maybe they are. There are large numbers of alums in the Triangle, Charlotte & the Triad. Maybe finances are preventing events in those areas. Finances or not, those areas don't need to be forgotten.

Agree, I've seen them before. If they nixed it for budget, they are losing sight of the bigger picture. Costs for something like this are not huge, but the money that could potentially be raised would far exceed it

RE: UNCW Coaches Tour
I went to one of these events they had in Charlotte a few years ago and I'd estimate fewer than 30 people showed up. I just don't think that many people care seriously about UNCW sports outside of the handful on this board and those involved around Wilmington. Are there any other UNCW message boards on any other sites? I'm assuming this is the most popular board out there, and the fact that there are only a couple dozen or so people who post here should tell us all we need to know about the interest in our athletic programs.

When we were rolling in hoops, there was a sea of Hawk fans. Anyone that went to the UNCW GW NCAA game will tell you. It was crazy.

We had something really special building from the early to mid 90s to the 2006. The Rowsom era laid the foundation for what could be and was fulfilled by the Wainwright and Brownell era. Its hard to describe the atmosphere and attitude of UNCW if you weren't there

Keatts was beginning something new and different from the previous 06 era, with signs of it being special, but so much damage was done in the decade after 2006 and his stay just wasn't long enough.
