I'll never forget the 2015 Navy game when we arrived late and found the regular Fairgrounds lots full and closed off. We had to park off somewhere west of Central BBQ and missed kickoff. Then we walked into a nearly-full stadium. Told my wife, "so this is what it's like to have a real football program".

If it meant 50,000+ crowds, I would take that experience every single time. That's a high class problem.

Build a large multilevel parking garage on the current Coka Cola property and even that problem is solved. By then the Liberty Bowl, like the Peabody Hotel, will be a grand old lady. You could also construct an additional Tiger Lane on that property along with the parking garage.

I think our biggest problem is memphis is a last hour drive in crowd expecting instant access to parking with no lines and close access. That works with 15,000 but 49k plus not so much.

Yep… about 15k spoiled fans who were accustomed to drive up & park convenience and zero lines… anywhere… bathrooms, concessions, gates, etc. it was almost like their own shietty private team.?…

Fixed it for you

Drove by Thursday. They've been doing less cutting and more just knocking over trees. All the one in the disc course, Libertyland area are just pushed over laying on the ground.

Where were the Greensward militants telling us about old growth hardwoods in the metro area?

I kid. IMO the plans for the area look really good.

Oh, we are still out here, and many of us are NOT pleased with the Libertyland plan, though the powers have been trying to shove one plan after another down our throats for decades. Their plans are always something to suit developers, and not so much to serve our communities. So very many creative and viable plans have been proposed by the people who actually live in this town and live in that neighborhood, but our politicians have zero interest in them. Anyway, a lot of us HATE that those trees were bulldozed. And BTW, did you notice that we "militants" actually SAVED the Greensward for this town and its future residents? A park with an Old Forest is a huge asset to a city and its citizens.

I am totally baffled that our fan base acts like they don't know there is plenty of free street parking to the west, which is where I have parked for 15 years; never had a safety problem or a break-in. There are always many fans going to their cars in that area.

I know some people cannot walk very far, but geesh! Our fan base is the same about parking in the Forum. They absolutely refuse to park on the street.

We meet at a friends house and walk about 1/2 a mile from the West.
BB I park in the $5 lot.

Walking is a good thing if you can walk. Going you can talk about what can be. Leaving you can talk about what was great or calm down about what went wrong.

Yep. Not having to pay to park saves me money for those overpriced margaritas. 03-lmfao
