Biden’s border crisis has worsened every month that he has been in office in terms of the number of illegal aliens apprehended at the southern border.

RNC Research Director Zach Parkinson noted that the release of the latest border statistics came after Vice President Kamala Harris visited Central America to address what the administration claims are the root causes of their border crisis.

“Biden Admin clearly trying to bury this,” Parkinson wrote. “They chose to release this after hours while Biden is in the UK and White House press corps is operating on a different schedule. This also conveniently comes **after** Kamala Harris returned from Guatemala and Mexico City, so she couldn’t be asked about it on her trip.”

“More than 38,000 children who migrated to the United States from countries south of Mexico and came across the southern border without a parent have been released throughout the country since President Joe Biden took office,” The Washington Examiner reported. “The figure represents the highest number of migrant children to be discharged from government custody at any point in U.S. history.”

Former President Donald Trump issued the following statement on Wednesday about Biden’s border crisis:

Our recently secured Southern Border is now worse than ever before. At no time in our Country’s history has anything so outrageous taken place. The Biden Administration stopped construction of the small remaining openings in areas of the almost 500 mile long wall, have taken away all authority from our great Border Patrol, and have ended such long fought for policies including Remain in Mexico, Safe Third Agreements, and our hugely-successful program that completely stopped Catch-and-Release.

Millions of people are pouring through our Border, including many criminals being released from jails, for such crimes as murder, drug smuggling, and human trafficking. In the history of our Country, it has never been more dangerous or worse. They do not have long to act as our Country is being destroyed!

The Federalist reported that the figures showed that “40,067 migrants detained in May from nations other than Mexico, Guatemala, Hondurans, and El Salvador, [were] up from just 9,671 in January.”

The Washington Post noted that CBP did not take questions from reporters about the abysmal numbers.

Excuse me - I think I can Tom-splain this.

The "record increase" really is a bit misleading. The denominator under Trump was much lower that it was under the prior administration. When you have a smaller denominator it takes a smaller numerator to make an increase appear to look bigger. During the Trump administration immigration dropped quite a bit - see smaller denominator. If you take the increase over the baseline of immigrants coming in when Obama was hear and run the numbers, the increase was only about 220%.

If Trump had not reduced the base line by so much, this 647% increase would be a much smaller figure - That means that this percentage increase is IN FACT Trump's fault.
