According to the Alumni Magazine, W&M now has an Esports Center.

I don't understand the appeal, but it's clearly very popular these days, so may as well stay ahead of the curve and offer it.

Coincidentally, I'm one of the students working on the backend to bring esports to W&M, and the interest has been pretty thrilling. We have good administration support, and we're getting the ears of many people in the gaming industry who want to see W&M Esports grow. Further, we are working on esports courses (we offered one last winter and a couple more this summer) with the eventual goal of a major or minor - that's been my focus as Academic Specialist.

Nice jerseys! Also like the motto "Carpe Ludum" - "Seize the Play". (Of course, the translation would be more useful on the first page rather than the last page .....)

Interesting. I have a son who is a "gamer". But boy, reading through the newsletter made me feel old. My past skill at Galaga seems a universe away, and not the CRT universe of the Galaga console.
