RE: Teal?
Teal is a good color but the name "teal" is not market worthy. Need to go in a whole different direction.

LOL This goes beyond him. It’s on Jimmy Bass. And I am curious why no one has mentioned him.

Teal?
We can’t even get a clear message out to media about using “UNCW”.

There’s zero expectation in my book at that rate that they’ll ever hammer down an actual teal color for similar branding purposes.

When I hear "old logo" I think of the block Seahawk and crashing wave. That isn't what is represented on the uncw.edu link. Rather they have the Georgian UNCW logo (not sure what it is called). Based on that there seems a delineation between the academic and athletic brands. This seems pretty consistent with other universities, large and small....https://www.coastal.edu/ and https://www.uncc.edu/ (with my emphasis on UNCC).

When you go to that page again, go in Chrome, and look up at the browser tab. It's the old block logo with the crashing wave.

Is that the complaint? Genuinely asking here, but it feels like we're just bitching now. I don't think we're looking at significant problems that are holding us back. I know I'm going against the majority here, but I don't think these are the answers to our problem. I'd rather focus on who we are and what we're selling; which is why I'd get behind 82's consistent feedback that we're the only coastal school in the state...brand that!

I think someone was just making the point about the inconsistency, that's all. To brand, or re-brand anything it will take consistency.

The UNCW Brand Identity Guide is an interesting read. A couple of notes from a quick pass through:

- The block logo with crashing wave is not retired. It is referenced as the Spirit Logo and it can be used internally (I think), but clearly states that it is not for use on any apparel or branding.
- "Teal, teal, teal! When planning projects using color, think teal. It’s the university’s signature color."
- Primary and secondary athletic logos are clearly defined.
- “Feel the Teal” has been retired and is not to be used on any UNCW materials or in text. I think "Feal the Neal" is still the greatest campaign slogan in UNCW history.
