NCAA Baseball Tournament

One involved Rice. 1960 team was undefeated, but so was Minnesota, most polls were based on regular season only, and they went for Minnesota. Minnesota lost the Rose Bowl, Ole Miss beat Rice in Sugar, and a few that decided NC after bowls went for Ole Miss. Of the three, the 1960 claim is probably the strongest.

ETA: Just thinking, how long has it been since Rice played a late season football game with national championship implications?

208 Days. And we won the game!!!!

We officially eliminated an unbeaten team from national title hopes in December of 2020.

That game did not have serious national championship implications.
