Delays in post-season play is one thing I don’t miss. Still better to be delayed than sitting at home.

Last night UT led USF 3-0 going into the T9. USF scored 3 on 2 HR's. In B9, UT scored 1 to walk it off.

Should be noted that USF got the first batters in B9 before what would have been the 3rd out hit a short grounder to SS. The USF fielder picked up the ball while charging, but fumbled it while getting it out of his glove and never made the throw to 1B. They ruled it a hit, but it was really an E-6. The next man up for UT double in the gap to walk it off.

Does the NCAA do the thing where they put a runner on 2nd to start extra innings?

Looks like they don't. UVA walked off to eliminate ODU in 10 with a one-out solo-shot HR. Lead-off ground out; no runners on base.

I don't really think of 2 & Q in supers. Not quite the same shame as doing it in regionals. If you make it that far, you've done reasonably well.

Also, let's not forget that Tennessee was the #3 national seed (ahead of even Vandy), while LSU was a bubble team and #3 seed in their regional. Not sure LSU would have even made the post season had Manieri not announced his retirement just before Selection Monday.

Tennessee is the third team to punch their ticket for Omaha, defeating LSU 15-6.

In any event, I’m never sad to see the LSU baseball program get eliminated unless maybe its Texas doing the eliminating.

I think just making regionals next year would be a hella accomplishment. But once you get to tee it up, anything can happen.

Making the regionals next year with our current roster is going to be a stretch, to say the least. On offense and defense we have a nice returning core with Garibay, Becker, Walsh, Hughes, Bulman and Cruz/Dunlap (assuming they both return for another year), but the pitching staff needs an awful lot of work. We do have a couple quality arms coming in, including the JUCO POY, but we're going to need a lot more than that. Then again, maybe our new pitching coach can work magic.

Former No. 1 Arkansas is eliminated. NC State wins 3-2.

Arizona takes an early lead on Ole Miss in Tucson, 1-0. 107F in the 1st inning.

ND forces a game 3 s MSST, 9-1.
