Why do people hate either one of these guys?
Rob was a horrible head coach. Callaway was a horrible head coach that was forces on UAB by the BOT as part of their plan to destroy UAB athletics.
Oh I understand they were not great coaches but it doesn't explain why some people here hate them.
Because some people exaggerate everything. Most hated them as coaches not as people. Only idiots would actually hate them as individuals but every fan base has some. Watson Brown I dislike as a person because of things he did off the field. Mc Goof was an ass in person.

Well said. I never hated them, I hated where our programs were under their leadership. It was never personal.

I agree as well. It was obvious after year one ehsan was not head coach material. I Don’t know him personally, so how could I hate him on a personal level? I , like the others, hated the on the court results, and where the basketball program was heading with him as the coach. A lot of fans on here got extra defensive anytime anyone called out how bad of a head coach he was, and that was very annoying.

It takes two seasons to judge a brand new head coach to see if he learned from his mistakes.

You can get a pretty damn good idea if a coach is showing potential or not in one year. Ehsan had very little chance of being a good coach for us after what he showed in year one. Same with McGee and Calloway, but to an even more extreme degree bc they were so awful

The Steelers in Noll’s first year showed improvement. Noll’s first pick as a Steelers Head Coach was Mean Joe Greene.

RE: Coaching Carousel about to heat up (NBR... I hope!!!)
Failure to win at revenue men's sports has never been a career killer for former UAB coaches. Due to its reputation as an underfunded, facility lacking, and under (fan) supported program, its coaches have gotten opportunities to win / or lose, elsewhere. Rob Ehsan may be a first, but it is too early to be sure. It is probable that had Bartow, Richardson, Young and Hill had to tell a prospective new coach that it would be almost 30 years (and a two season program suspension) before the first new football facility would be built, they might have had a longer search for their first hire.
I believe it to be more than coincidence that our first major funding surge, our first new football facility and first winning coach came at the same time.

if by improvement you mean winning less than the year before you are correct

Ya called it: Brad Stevens reportedly out as Celtics Head Coach.
Quote:Massive changes are indeed coming for the Boston Celtics.
Not long after a report surfaced that said Danny Ainge was seriously considering stepping down from his role as president of basketball operations, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Brad Stevens is moving to the front office and the team will begin a search for a new head coach...
Stevens was rumored to have been a target for the University of Indiana in March, with the school reportedly planning to offer him a massive contract to be their coach. Wojnarowski reported that Stevens wasn’t interested, and this latest development likely helps explain why.
