They'd be the first to complain when the lights didn't come on.

I'm not against fossil fuels. I just wish we have other options.

Everyone wishes that too...but so far not any work good enough to run a country or your car. Try driving your electric car cross country and see how long that would take with multiple electric charging. No more "I drove 48 hours straight" stories.

Without a doubt but we have had solar and electrical technology for decades.

At some point someone has to wonder why we haven't figured it out yet and what role oil companies have had in making sure that happens.

Fossil fuels are also used to produce plastics, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals and a host of other products. Yeah, they are not going away anytime soon.

Having the technology is the easy part of the problem. Scale and infrastructure are the hard parts.

Who is funding the Republicans? Fossil fuel companies. "Encroachments"? Play the victim's much?. This is end game for fossil fuel companies. We all might have different ideas about when that era will be over but it is going to happened at some point. It is inevitable even if the steampunk villiams think otherwise.

You still using fossil fuels? Hypocrite.
Just quit using them now. You and Mensastration both. Just stop it now. And while you are at it make sure you don’t bank at a bank that processes any fossil fuel transactions.
I’m sure you will save the planet from destruction all by yourselves.

I never said I was not using fossil fuels there Sparky. My point was that acting like the fissile fuel companies need to be “saved” is ridiculous. Is our economy not capitalist? The point is just like all other fuels have come and gone so will fossil fuels. Adapt or die as a business. Moron.

All other fuels were phased out when something better came along, not because the government forced it. As soon as something comes along that is better than fossil fuels then they will fade out as well. The point is that the government can't force this. Someone in this capitalist economy will come up with something better and the public will buy it.

Exactly. Who knows how long it’s going to take but the fossil fuel companies wanting to complain about encroachments is the public acknowledgment of their concern for what is on the horizon.

Spot on. Petrochemical Plants produce a whole lot more than fuel and will not go away even if gasoline is replaced by some other fuel source. I work around the plants and supply those who supply the plants and most now make money regardless of the price of oil per barrel. There is one Company that only produced plastic pellets that are sold to other companies all over the world that melt them into what ever form or product they need. You would be shocked how large this company is.

That's an excellent point. That is why I hope we pass that infrastructure bill.
