Everyone knows Trump was responsible.

Even those who stormed the Capitol said Trump told them to be there.

No more so than Democrats are responsible for for most the racial strife and racial violence in our country. That would also mean Democrats are responsible for attempted mass murder of Republican congressman on a baseball field, for the mass violence against Jewish citizens on the streets of America, and for ALL OF the death and destruction in the BLM riots this summer. Both sides use rhetoric here. Either both Parties are responsible for the violence---or the individuals choosing violence are at fault. My belief is you are ultimately responsible for your own actions. Thats basically what conservatism is all about--freedom and personal responsibility.

Hey, any Democrat who held a BLM rally, told people to fight like hell and to go to a building they then stormed is just as guilty as Trump. I don’t have any love lost for Democrats, and doing whataboutism just excuses bad behavior.

Again---I listened to the ENTIRE speech. Trump also told his follower to "be heard" and to "cheer on our senators" in a peaceful and patriotic way." Now can we honest for once? The FBI has made it clear that several groups in the crowd had premeditated plans to do bad stuff and they were the key ring leaders in the crowd. The FBI admits to warning the Capital police days in advance that they had picked up on these plans by certain groups. Camera video shows the outer Capital ring was overwhelmed nearly half an hour before Trump told people to go to the capital. So, Trump didnt "incite" anything. In short---you cant incite a group to do something when that group already has premeditated plans for an action--and you certainly are not responsible if that action is already in the process of happening.

I don’t think anyone making the case that Trump holds some level of culpability for what happened on Jan 6th is basing it only on the speech he gave that day. Frankly if you can’t acknowledge that he holds at least some minute level of responsibility for what happened, I’m not really sure the conversation is worth continuing though.

Then, using that logic Democrats are culpable for all the racial strife we have today, the shooting of Republican lawmakers on a baseball field, and the violence and destruction in race riots last year (including the “insurrection” at the White House last summer where hundreds of Secret Service and police were injured.

I think the intent was there but it was poorly planned.

Do you actually believe the crowd was there to overthrow the government? Stand up and say so... what "intent" do you mean?

Well they clearly were there to try and stop the acceptance of the election results.

How else would you characterize something like that?
