Basketball has done a pretty good job, but the League has sucked in promoting it. Football has got to improve.

I think that other teams used Graham's age and the uncertainty that he would be around for the full tenure of a player's career against him in recruiting.

Bragga seems to have (*have had) difficulty in managing pitching.

If this conference spends over $5 on promoting any of the sports other than football and basketball....

they should be fired

I would bet anything that if you asked 100 fans going through the gates of a Marshall football game. One might know the name of one player on Marshalls national championship team. If you asked when was the last time Marshall won a national championship in any sport...90% would go back to 1AA and the other 10% might say soccer but only because they received a email on it while renewing season tickets for football.

Baseball is a far far far distant 3rd or probably 4th in CUSA and like #3 Lady basketball...very little money should be spent promoting. On the conferences facebook page and twitter is where it should be. If the conference had money to just throw away...

promote these other sports that people might remember who the soccer national champions are... for about an hour after someone told them. Same goes for volleyball (CUSA had 2 ranked teams this year or last year) and softball. A soccer national championship is a feel good story for Marshall fans. But that's where it ends, if it takes dollars to promote it. If we are being honest...

most Marshall fans had to be told about it. After the fact. And they would trade it for one football win on Sept 4th over Navy

I think they should promote The National Championship in soccer instead of replaying those spots they made including all the CUSA teams and they all say the same thing. They always show those spots during league broadcasts. We can do better than that. Let one of the better video/digital production programs within our conference produce it.

Until we get a change in CUSA administration, we are on our own. Hopefully one of the baseball teams, plus a resurgence of Rice baseball, will help with this.

Considering the city shutdown a street to accommodate several restaurants hosting a watch party (at least 9 were held in the city), that Marshall fans basically took over the stadium down there and bought every available ticket, including the extra 2500 they opened up 2 days before the game, this statement comes off as delicious jealousy and completely completely divorced from reality.

Well the local media certainly cover the championship. One Huntington/Charleston TV station, WSAZ (which is the dominate TV station in eastern KY; southeast Ohio and most of WV) sent down four of their on the air personalities and a satellite truck to provide live updates during the Monday morning newscast; noon newscast and evening newscast. They even cut into the The Tonight Show with a live update the night of the championship. WSAZ is such strong affiliate of NBC, I bet that is why The Today Show reported about the Marshall Championship the next morning.
