W&M eliminated Towson earlier, 7-3. They'll play at 11 AM tomorrow against the lowest seeded loser from today. If NU beats Charleston here in the game that just got started, it'll be Charleston playing at 11 AM tomorrow. Otherwise, it'll be the loser of our game.

Game 4 of the tournament and 2 of the day is underway. Cougars get a leadoff single to begin the top of the 1st.

Huskies jump on Charleston first. 2-0 in the first and they have 1 on, 1 out.

NU is 16-0 this season when they score in the 1st inning, from what I just heard.

Wow, 3-run bomb now makes it 5-0 Huskies.

As expected, this team really is legit guys.

Solo HR by Jared Kirven gets Charleston on the board. 6-1 now.

Another HR for NU, this time a 2-run bomb to right in the bottom of the 3rd. 8-1.

On a side note how about Charlotte going oh-fer in the CUSA Tournament!

That’s crazy.

There was a comment I read earlier this week about NU from a B10 coach; I can't find the quote, but it was referencing how good NU is and stated something to the effect that if they had an opportunity to have played a normal schedule, they would be hosting a regional. I hope we can spoil that, but it seems that they caught the attention of some and are certainly living up to that today.

Baseball is a weird game, that's for sure. Especially during tournaments!

Now 9-1 Huskies in the 5th; they hit another solo bomb in the 4th.

NU up to 11 hits already and its only the 5th inning.

Charleston only has 4, and they've also committed a pair of errors.

I don't doubt that. They have a great program with a terrific coach. That's why I wasn't prepared to bet against them even with the uncertainty of how they'd do against South Division teams.

Still 10-1 NU as we move to the 8th inning.

NU's starter, Schlittler, remains in the contest.

NU could never host right now.

Our field doesn’t have lights to play a baseball game. The lights are positioned for soccer night games. I guess we could rent lights but then there’s the issue of the neighborhood complaints about holding such a tourney.

Even if NU were to win a Regional and had a better seed than our opponent, I seriously doubt we would do it.

Well my point was that you are a program capable of putting up a resume in a given year that would be worthy of a 1-seed or hosting. The NCAA granting you hosting privileges is another matter.

I'm not sure we could host a Regional either with our facilities but we could certainly put up a 1-seed performance.

I definitely agree with your opinion of NU in regards to being a host.

I would love to see it happen one day, I’m just not sure it could.

UNCW does an outstanding job as a tourney host.
