I'd feel better with another 6'8-6'10 experienced with some weight in there for match-ups but eh, we'll see how it goes.

I agree. I just have a feeling that in the end, it will be another one of those seasons where we say “If only we had...”. Meanwhile, BG picked up yet another transfer, this time an experienced low post option from Kent State.
Lot of pieces for Huger to have to put together now, and sometimes it doesn’t work well in reality, but I’m grudgingly impressed that he appears on paper to have addressed his teams weaknesses/losses better than we did overall.

Let’s hope Arnor has been hitting the Hjónabandsæla heavily and brings about 240 so we can move him over to the 4 slot.[/font]

BG got a 6-8 PF transfer from Old Dominion.

I thought last year did not count for eligibility? Was that only for seniors?

RE: Men's baketball roster updated
everyone should be the same class as they were last year.

none of the roster data is updated. just has names. presumably, when fall camp opens in mid october they will refresh weights heights stats, etc... on the website.

tough to figure out at this point what the bench rotation looks like. i think we can pencil in 4 starters.

RayJ Dennis, Rian Rollins,. AJ Edu, Seth Milner

then we know Keshaun Saunders and JT Shumate will play a lot with 1 probably starting.

bench players 7 and 8 are usually the guys coach k thinks he can count on the most but I think this team may play 9 or 10. I'd expect Moss to get minutes as he's physically ready, has had a year in the system and is pretty versatile. Then, Jacobi, Wilson and Farmer have been talked up like coach thinks they are good enough to come in and get minutes immediately. Hopefully, Carcoana is ready to fill a few minutes when we need size behind Edu. And Hill was in the rotation as a frosh before his injury so you'd imagine after a year of improvement he'd earn some minutes. Not sure how the Icelander fits in but he's got a bit more size and shooting range than most of the incoming class and has some interesting experience. Looks like practices will be pretty intense with spots 7-13 all undecided.

Hoping everyone stays healthy and K can finally utilize an 8-9 man rotation for next season ...

EDU will obviously be "phased in" carefully. Shumate may very well continue to start with EDU being #6 especially on OOC.

Ideally EDU would be the man in the middle but giving up scoring with him getting more minutes than JT is perplexing. Tough call since EDU is scoring challenged. I know they have worked hard with him on post scoring. I don't like him rotating outside for jumpers. That's a real O gamble.

I think this is a fantastic roster. Very excited to once again see UT basketball and the Frosh plus Moss!!!!!!!!!!

Go Rockets!

Yeah, I can see that argument IamN2daRockets. I just think we haven't seen AJ's offensive potential and Shumate is more of a stretch 4 or 3 man than a center. TK has said that AJ is excellent setting screens and is solid in the high screen game. he doesn't have to be a major 3 point threat. AJ needs to see the ball go in the basket a bit so he realizes that he doesn't need to create offense just take what is available. He's the type of player who can have a single digit game (like 7 points 9 rebounds 4 blocks 3 assists) and be an impact player with his defense and understanding of how to work in this offense (it's his 4th year and he's smart). i do like shumate as a small ball 5 man when edu is out-a rotation like JT, milner, moss, saunders, rollins can be big and physical enough on the perimeter to offset a little less size inside. Who knows. Will be an exciting team to follow.

Edu did have a pretty good offensive game when he was playing for clubs and internationally from online video.

I think we all agree that for UT's season to be special we need lots of minutes, points, and D from EDU !!!!!

He IS the difference maker for the a potentially highly successful UT season. I am truly excited to see him back in uniform for the Rockets!
