Is Arkansas going to try to play Texas every year in football out of conference? I've heard about many Razorback fans wanting to renew this rivalry, so what's hold up? Is Texas scared that the Razorbacks might have in for them? It would be good to see the rivalry renewed though.

The Arkansas-Texas rivalry will be renewed September 13, 2003 in Austin. The arrangement was made when the decision to add a twelfth game to the schedule went official.
I dont know if Texans will be as fired up for the game as we will be, but its a date that has been circled on Razorback schedules for a long time.

Is this going to be a permanent arrangement, ala UGa-GT (OOC game played every year), Bigolhawg, or is it going to be just one home and home and that's all?

For right now, UA vs. Tex- a$$ will be a 2-yr. home and home series. Arkansas fans would love to see it become a perennial battle though.
Houston Nutt, on KTUL's (Tulsa) "You Make the Call" sports show, said he'd like rotating 2 year series with the Texas and Southern Cals of the world, but have Oklahoma State and Tulsa as the permanent OOC teams every year, like we used to do in the mid 60s to mid 70s.
Talk was also going on about a possible perennial matchup between Arkansas and Texas A&M, to be held every year in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl following the Texas-Oklahoma game. Franchione ended those talks.
After Texas in 03-04, the Razorbacks have a 2-yr home and home deal with Southern Cal (05-06). We had one in 07-08 with Michigan, but they dropped out. We also had one with Oklahoma in 08-09 (imagine Michigan and Oklahoma in one year), but the Sooners pulled out as well. I know from good sources though that we're talking to Virginia, Penn State, Purdue, and Notre Dame about possible home and home series.

Let me comment on Franchione: the man is a complete & total jerk. And I know what model he's following too now: the Tommy Tubberville model.
Remember when Tubberville stated that he didn't want to play FSU and he got Auburn to pull out? I think Franchione took notes on that, and decided to do the same. Plus, I also seriously believe Dennis Franchione is looking to bolt to the NFL in a few years. Knowing his ego, I wouldn't put it past him to be coaching the Houston Texans by 2006 or 2007. Franchione only cares about Franchione, much like Butch Davis @ Miami only cared about...Butch Davis!!! Need I say more on this subject? :D I'd try to get that perennial matchup with A&M going again after Franchione is gone (don't worry, you won't have to wait long. )
I like the OOC games you have lined up for the future. Looking good with Southern Cal (they never back away from a challenge), PSU (ditto), Notre Dame (what a coup!! how did Broyles pull that one off??? ), and Purdue.
Also, what are your thoughts about a perennial matchup with Oklahoma State in football? Do you agree with Houston Nutt on that, or do you think he's just plain "nuts" in that dept?

There are some areas where I dont really like Houston Nutt, and one of them has been scheduling. I do like this trend of playing Texas and Southern Cal, and hope that we can continue to have a premier OOC game every year.
Oklahoma State has made some huge strides, and renewing that rivalry would be great for both schools. But, with 4 years to go, I am sure that Houston can have a top opponent for the 2007 season, whether its Oklahoma State or a traditional power.
