He should've stayed at EMU. Did someone lead him to think he would get a P5 opportunity?

Yeah I dontt view Buffalo as an upgrade.

maybe my man just loves hot wings and the goo goo dolls

Lateral move for Quian at best. Strange decision.....As he would have been WR1 or 2 with a stud QB returning.

Quian just officially committed to Buffalo. Good for him - I'm just happy they arent on our schedule this year.

Hope it works for him. We see players transferring like them buying a new pair of pants or running shoes. Replacing one pair of pants with another. No big deal.

Picking a school and then another school is a BIG decision. One doesn't move from Ypsilanti (S.E. MI) to Buffalo on a lark.

It is a BIG adjustment in terms of athletics, academics, locale (I could go to Buffalo and I'd be lost), etc. UB is a very difficult school academically. It is N.Y.'s flagship university.

Having lived both SE Michigan and East Amherst NY - i can promise you the cultural shift isnt exactly jarring. Hockey, Football, Cold Winters, Cheap Beer, Nice Folks, Greasy Foods - theres more similar than different by a lot.

I can indicate that I also have experience with Buffalo. While I was at EMU I went to Buffalo and ran 26.2 miles as fast as I could to get out of there.

No offense to Buffalo but the idea of running a marathon is to get out of there ASAP. 03-lmfao

Quian has the right to leave but the decision is puzzling....I dont view Vantrease the Buffalo QB as any better than Hutch or potentially Ben the transfer from Cincy. Also a brand new head coach..... wow. good for him. He was only getting FCS offers and I'm glad he got an FBS

RE: UNOFFICAL 2021 Football Transfer Thread
It is July 4th weekend and a number of our FB and MBB players are without a new school.

Anyone hearing anything? June 30 was the deadline to transfer without penalty.

Steve you make very solid points. Something happened with regards to Quian last year. He no longer was returning kicks and was not the primary wide receiver either. Knue and Beydoun emerged and Drummond is still around as well. All have similar eligibility.

Personally I still think "Q" had a far greater upside but apparently Creighton did not share my opinion. I still think he has P5 potential, but apparently no P5 coach shared that feeling either. Perhaps he had some citizenship issues or something of that ilk. If so, the guy needs a fresh start and a change of scenery.

I saw a website that listed his 40 time as high as 4.64 sec. That may be why he didn't get a P5 offer.

RE: UNOFFICAL 2021 Football Transfer Thread
CC and staff used to use JUCOs to plug in roster holes now they use the transfer portal.

Another trend maybe in both Heath and CC's recruiting maybe for this year only is to get a JUCO player with one year experience with 4 years left. A JUCO player would have played at a higher caliber than most high school progams.

Great info Nickle, thanks for sharing. I just assumed that a kick returner would be a "burner" but then I realized that Creighton usually plans to fair catch kickoffs. He probably selected "Q" as his returner based on his hands rather than his feet.

Look if you're going to drop from FBS to FCS - you might as well go with the best. Best of luck to him.

NDSU is FCS. NDSU, as you know, could beat many if not most G5 schools. They are good and have been good for many years.

Playing close to home isn't for everyone - maybe the space and fresh air will do him good. Fargo is a sneaky cool town too.

Dear Friends,
The only time Eastern played North Dakota State was in the Boisture era, and it ended in a 14 to 14 tie.
The game was played in Fargo.

North Dakota St is an upgrade over many D1 schools, especially the MAC! They produce plenty NFL talent, this past draft they had 2 1st round draft picks! Great for Vines! Vines and Q both left...........Does this make sense? Q was our best WR by far 2 seasons ago, and Vines did okay as a DB..........Is E Michigan better at both of those positions? That's a debate!

When in both cases P5 transfers were brought in to replace both. I will argue that we are with thosevadditions and what we had on the depth chart.
