RE: Baseball Softball Concept
I really think UT is committed to moving BB/SB on to main campus, so I doubt any investment to improve current fields at Scott Park is in the cards. My best guess is that we are looking at 3-4 years of dedicated fund raising and then building new fields on Carter field site location as per master plan. In meantime UT really wants to rid itself of Scott Park, all options on the table, but would look to keep BB/SB there until ready for more to main campus.

RE: Baseball Softball Concept
I think that land is going to be a hard sell. There aren't any natural resources that would make up-scale housing attractive and we certainly don't need any more less than market rate. The businesses already there do not seem to have potential for synergy that I can imagine. When they get the Dorr St interchange (which I wasn't really on board with) done, maybe that land will be a bit more attractive to development. Would probably have to be new scope.

Northwest St holds some classes there. It could maybe continue as a joint educational. Every few years, TPS makes noise about recreating Macomber-Whitney, without any progress. St Francis could use it to put in a carpentry school. My pie-in-the-sky is still research to dollars.

Any idea why UT doesn't take better care of the Welltower property? I get it's a really large plot of land, but when Dana was there, it looked pristine at all times. Now UT has let majority of the grass get overgrown, shrubbery not trimmed. Almost looks like a scene out of Jurassic Park. Needs to be addressed, especially with the Solheim Cup on its way right across the street.

Cost of maintenance...the same reason why Dana moved and Welltower gave it away. Hell the main campus has weeds all over and unkempt plants in a lot of places now too...maintenance staff got hit hard by the budget cuts. Welltower made an incredible move, as they got to keep most of their physical infrastructure in a rent format without needing to foot for much needed maintenance (they still hold about half of the main building and the entire second office complex closer to Richards), they get the wonderful tax break for giving away a property which they valued far above market rate, and no one's the wiser.

[Sorry, I couldn't quit you guys as much as I tried...care too much about Toledo to not talk about it with others]
