Ugly at UDM

Hard to believe they stayed with the coach and chucked the entire team. I guess the right year for Gilbert to be a black woman under fire. But man the way she left her previous school and now this.

Just ugly.

RE: Ugly at UDM
I understand you want to have a completely new team, but I don't understand kicking a player off the team that actually WANTED to stay and play for this coach. Does the coach just not want someone on the team that will be able to say, "Hey this is the same sh!t we dealt with last year..." because that's how the cynic in me is interpreting this.

If your coaching is so awful that your whole team leaves, maybe it is the coach that should be getting the boot.

I've followed college sports for many years and this ranks highly in terms of unusual situations.

RE: Ugly at UDM
It seems like the players complained, the school launched an investigation, and the investigation didn't turn up much (It should also be noted that coach Gilbert recieved a 2 year ban from coaching after her time at EMU for what seems like similar issues). I guess the school's logic is they can't fire the coach now, and the coach's logic is she doesn't want any of the players who complained/tried to get her fired to stick around.

RE: Ugly at UDM
Very rarely, if ever, do I advocate for anyone getting fired, but I firmly believe in this case it is definitely warranted. The coach has zero control of her team, and she is in way over her head. The one player that stood up for her she doesn't want on her team anymore. If I were the parents, I would talk/plead with UDM's president to get her fired.
