Four words lead to this:
"Head Coach Chris Grassie"
I was tweeting with a BE journalist, know it all John Fanta, you want to know anything at all on what is going on in the BE you contact him. And I told him that I believe Chris Grassie is the best DI head coach in the nation.
He has what coaches are always talking about "The It Factor". He knows how to sell himself and the environment around him, he believes in what he is doing, knows how to identify players and develop them. He allows his players to have input in plays, and lets them play during a match.
If you don't have the patients to go through the 42 page thread then here is a break down of Chris Grassie.

Grassie has been in the US since he was 17. He played soccer at DII Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi WV, was a GA under Bob Gray at Marshall, an asst at the University of Charleston, an asst 4 years at Michigan, the head coach at the University of Charleston from 2011-2017. And hired at Marshall in Jan 2017.
Marshall only has 2 seniors and will most likely return 9 or 10 starters next year (well in the fall). Senior Jemil Roberts was drafted by Sporting Kansas City in the MLS draft and will join them once the season is over. The other senior in Pedro Dolabella can return for his senior season, using his extra Covid year but he will have options to go pro elsewhere. Its not been made public on what he will do.
Probable Starting 11 Tomorrow
Wing: Jamil Roberts
Forward: Milo Yosef
Midfielder: Vitor Dias
Midfielder: Vinicius Fernandes
Midfielder: Max Schneider
Midfielder: Pedro Dolabella
Left Back: Gabriel Alves
Center Back: Nathan Dossantos
Center Back: Collin Mocyunas
Right Back: Jan-Erik Leinhos
Goalkeeper: Oliver Semmle
Marshall is very international, all but one starter is international. The one US starter is actually a West Virginia kid. And not only a WV kid, Collin Mocyunas is from Morgantown WV (Evil Laugh).
Before Grassie got to Huntington Marshall was even lucky to make the conference tournament some years. Last year, 2019 was the 1st time Marshall had even been in the NCAA Soccer Tournament. They were actually seeded 11 with a bye last year and beat WVU 2-1 before falling to 6 seed Washington 4-1. Now they are one win away from a national title
