Congrats to all the guys who made it! Does anyone know if Noski is healthy for this season? I thought I read something about him injured in Spring ball. Hope he's ok, if not thats a big blow to our secondary.

I can't help much in this discussion (haven't even read Phil's magnus opus). I have a DVR and I used to record say at least a few FB and MBB games a year. If I wanted to replay the QL Bowl I could.
Anyway, tears, my DVR HD went bad so I now have a new DVR with a lot of Wizards games and ZERO EMU FB.
Guess I could try YouTube to see if any games are out there. We'll see.

The preseason team is dubious. It's got one Toledo player that has yet to play for the Rockets.

Maybe Phil doesn't have TOL games on HIS DVR.

Wouldn't matter. The player was at Penn State last season. Btw, plenty of games/highlights on YouTube.

RE: Football preview
Pro Football Focus has Hutch as the 50th best starting QB in the country:
"Hutchinson shined on a small sample in 2019 and did the same as a full-time starter in 2020. He finished the year with an 81.8 PFF grade that ranked 20th in the FBS and led Eastern Michigan to its most successful passing offense of the PFF College era. His eight big-time throws on targets of 10-19 yards tied for third-most in the FBS last season. The Eagles could surprise some teams in the MAC if Hutchinson shows further growth in 2021."

Probably the most surprising about Preston last year was his ability to run the ball.

Nice to see Hutch ranked above the MSU and UM QBs. I don't see a CMU QB on the list.

Can't wait to learn more about the QB Battle between those two. I think EMU is in really good hands with Hutch and Ben Bryant. Both very good QB's. Happy that Hutch got into the top 50. Our O-line will have a great year allowing for either to throw to Tanner, Beydoun, Cannon, etc.

And that he didn't get killed. He needs to practice getting tackled.

Hopefully we have a consistent running attack and running backs so he doesn't have to run as much.

I agree. I dont think its in anyone's best interest that Hutch runs as much as he does. He has the O-line this year and I really think Boone will have an awesome season with Samson filling in. A lot of his runs were on R.P.O.'s and Im hopeful the O-line opens enough holes for Hutch to not feel feel like he has to keep it and run himself because the D.E. but down.
Our rush attack should be MUCH better. If THIS offense scores less than 28 a game, we will have problems. I expect us to be DOMINANT offensively.

Good share Nickel! Thanks for doing so.
Honestly this preview contained the best analytics of any I have seen to date. It is all about the defense this year.

I dont know about this one..... 5-7 and I think he mentioned a loss to NIU with a win at Miami? No mention of the 2 secondary transfers who will likely start in place of Shine.

Don't forget highly thought of transfer Jawon Hamilton. I bet he has a game or two where he stands out.

I didn't see any mention of special teams which is a,glaring omission. Julian is,a defense's best friend ditto Ryland on kick offs. And Ryland is a game changer on offense if he continues to improve his consistency.

Agreed. These pre-season reviews all seem to ignore special teams, which should be a real difference-maker for the Eagles this year. They also seem to ignore the Eagles' success in red-zone defense last year, and I would say somewhat understandably are unaware of the potential impact the transfers CC has brought on board could have.
I don't mind these low rankings in the pre-season because it could make the Eagles a team opponents might look past thinking they are an easy win. Sometimes there is an advantage to playing from the underdog position. I still maintain this team will be the sleeper team of the MAC, if not the NCAA.
And man would I love to see this team pull off the upset at Camp Randall! I have my hotel room reserved in Madison for that weekend.
