RE: Would ESPN dare schedule CFP games the weekend of Army/Navy?

A playoff game will not be scheduled around the relatively recent Army-Navy weekend.
Army-Navy is a great game and one I watch every year. I would probably flip between it and a playoff game. I think most casual fans would watch the expanded playoffs due to its impact on the national championship, plus it would be a new event.
Both academies would move the game in order to participate in the playoffs.
I don’t know how anybody can logically argue with this.
About the bolded part, I think you're probably right but maybe not.
The results from a few months ago might provide a clue, as several games were played at the same time as Army-Navy due to virus rescheduling.
IIRC, the Army-Navy game was the highest-rated, but its viewership was way down, around 4.9 million whereas it has hovered around the 8 million mark for the last few years. The other games played at the same time had about a collective 6.5 million viewers. There were some decent matchups such as Iowa vs Wisconsin and UNC vs Miami, but nothing that was "must see".
I don't think CBS would want that kind of decline, so I suspect the game would be moved, but I'm not sure. The academies could just decide to do their own thing the way they want to.

Remind me again when the last time Navy was in the Orange Bowl?
Also, I’m not emotionally invested and I’m not sure why you would assume that. I’m just offering my opinion based on logic as a fan of the sport.
