Congrats to the Students among our Athletes
C-USA releases the list of Student-Athletes on the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll this year. They have achieved a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher. Congratulations to these kids for preparing for what the real future holds for them.

Shout out to my Niners! A total of 333 student-athletes, the most in the league, were named to the 2020-21 Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.

Recipients of the 2020-21 C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal will be announced tomorrow (3.75 cumulative GPA or higher).

I'm surprised the numbers are higher than ever. I've been hearing a lot of college kids during the pandemic are struggling in school to stay motivated and grades are really suffering. Congrats to all on the list.

C-USA Academic Medal recipients are student-athletes in league-sponsored sports that have achieved a 3.75 cumulative GPA or higher. "Charlotte garnered the most medals (109) followed by UAB (104) and Marshall (90)."

Wonder how all this transfer portal stuff affects the graduation rating. Used to be pretty serious if players left before graduating in certain numbers to the point of NCAA sanctions. I assume transfers don't count against that, but I don't know. Is that just drop outs and people leaving for professional sports?

In essence, if the athlete leaves in good standing then the APR gets adjusted (the retention point gets taken out - so instead of going 0/1 on the retention point, you go 0/0). You want your points to stay over 93% to avoid possible penalties. Each athlete can get a point for being eligible and a point for retention for each semester.
