Phlip, honestly, i don't think you'd find anyone here (or in the "general" public) who would disagree with you on this policy.

Politicians on the other hand like to muddy the waters/blur the lines, as by your post to say "what is infrastructure" and what isn't (and that's not counting earmarks and riders).

While I agree with this concept, it wouldn't fly in D.C.

1) Too much work for single issue bills. Legislators don't write the bills as it is, lobbyists do.

2) They like long, complicated bills with lots of moving parts. Much easier to HIDE B.S. in those bills as they love to do, knowing that most may miss the bad parts.

3) They wouldn't be able to cause so many problems (get much done) if every bill needed to be single issue. (To us, that's a feature. To them it is a bug.
