Tate Reeves on PUA...the ‘sip helping leech from the teat...

Quote:JACKSON, Miss. (WLOX) - The same day one of Mississippi’s top elected officials recommended the action. Gov. Tate Reeves announced Mississippi would opt out of additional federal unemployment benefits.
Reeves has also asked the Department of Employment Security to prioritize pre-pandemic enforcement of eligibility requirements under state law.
Mississippi’s Speaker of the House published a letter asking the governor to take steps to get people off unemployment and back to work.
State Rep. Philip Gunn suggested in his letter to Gov. Tate Reeves that Mississippi could opt of participating in the federal COVID-19 related unemployment benefits, following the example of Montana, South Carolina, and most recently Alabama.

The states in most need are the states cutting off their citizens.

It's crazy isn't it. Rather than listen to their own people they do the opposite.

That's not how government should work.

You mean like refusing to listen to small business owners?

Smart Governor trying to keep his people from falling into the government dependency trap the left has set. He knows that if folks are going to get back to work, they need an incentive, like putting food on the table.

Kudos.

But it's not government dependency it's their money. Aren't people entitled to their money?

I laugh at Mississippi at times but lately I find myself admiring it. I'd rather live there than a whole boatload of other states.

More BS from our newest leftist. I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.

But just for fun, tell us how it's their money.

commiedan, taxes pay for unemployment. If they aren't working, they aren't paying taxes, hence it's not their money. It's the money of the people who ARE paying taxes. It's MY money, and YOUR money (that's a royal your, I'm sure you're a couch leech yourself).

Unemployment and Social Security are both "pay as you go", they aren't hedge funds.
