Roxanne.. You don't have to put on the bluelight
Ok, it is a dead period for coaches to see or talk with player's. Why does this board keep promoting, that JJ has one more open slot? I think with all the player's in the left in the portal, our chances of getting a decent player, are slim.

I'm sorry, but what you just wrote makes no sense. Everyone recruits for the future, everyone's looking at the portal daily, if not more often. VC has kids listed that entered the portal, literally, 30 seconds earlier.
Whatever your definition of a "decent" player is, I'm sure you'll be pissed off if and when they come.

If you miss understood my comment, I was only talking about one more grant for next season, not future prospects. It would seem they are settled in of who they want and are waiting. Our history with JJ(in the portal) is not good. By decent I mean consistent players like Curry, who you could depend on every game.

This is JJ's quiet time at it's best! He gets better at it every year.

Pretty sure they’ve signed 5 newcomers and have one open scholly. Show me a program without an open scholarship. You’re either delusional or you don’t understand how college basketball works... which is it? Or is it both?

Brian BB Knight, had a good weekend in a TX .
If these player's are that good, then forget them coming to ODU. They are not typical recruits that JJ picks up!

I'll vote "both" also! I am delusional thinking that this program is in good shape and I must not know how college basketball works because I think our program right now sucks and by our recruiting efforts, it isn't getting any better in the near future. Am I wrong? Do you like where we are right now and where we are going? If so, maybe you are the one that needs to look in the mirror

Just glad I don’t go through life blaming others for everything. How miserable. Your obsession with JJ is either sad or creepy. Probably both on that front as well. To blame everything on one person is crazy and delusional. The recruitment of these young men is a group effort. You aren’t looking at the entire picture. There are a ton of circumstances that some of y’all just want to gloss over so u can lay blame somewhere specific because it helps you sleep at night.

Sorry, I thought JJ was the head coach! So he isn't responsible for the recruiting of his team? He isn't responsible for his teams performance? Your right maybe we shouldn't blame JJ, it's his coaches fault for this mediocre performance. I am so glad you got me straight on this. My apologies to JJ!

Oh my god. It’s not even about JJ. I don’t give two damns about him. It’s just the fact that you imply that the only reason anything happens at all is due to him or because of him. Just a lack of understanding about the recruitment process in general. As if the only reason the kid picks the school is because of the head coach. I’d argue it’s not even the first reason. Good lord man, Your obsession with him is just creepy at this point. Must suck to watch sports that way just in general. Seek help.

Always seeking an audience. As if any of us reading here really come on to have some one else tell us how to think about the AD, the HC, etc.
We all have our opinions. Just most of us don't starve for an audience enough to state our opinions hundreds of times for others to sift through. Carry on with any meaningful piece of recruiting news.

These two make me embarrassed to be associated with ODU.
At least the other - how shall we say - more negative posters can form complete logical thoughts.

You are probably right. Woodie don't mine paying JJ 1/2 mil for mediocre talent and schedule. Why should we care, ODU will stay at thier same level for the next 8 years (like the last 8). Good bye NCAA!

No matter what recruit you bring in, JJ is the final factor in what the kid likes(dry personality and age, and verbally exposing recruits in public, is not a inviting gift.
