Monday Musings - A Day Early
O/T this is the saga at UDM WBB. The connection, of course, is that Ann Marie Gilbert is a fmr. EMU HC.

Anyway, parents went to the university after a mass revolt by the student athetes.

UDM shut down the season and investigated.

After all of that they are bringing Gilbert back after "implementing additional measures"

Anyway, after the transfers, etc. here is where UDM is today: " That leaves just one player on the roster to play for Gilbert next season."

Is this bad news for Andrew Wylie?

https://www.espn.com/blog/kansas-city-ch...the-making

P.S. He'd look good in Detroit as the Lions are trying to build a top 5 OL with Decker, Ragnow and Sewell.

Think there is a guard slot Wylie would look good filling.

Dear Friends,
Just my opinion on the Chief's offensive line. First, while watching them play this past season, before he was hurt, Fisher, at left tackle missed many blocks while defending for Mahones. After he was hurt, (Fisher) instead of just replacing him with someone at left tackle, the Chiefs completely moved everyone around on the offensive line to a new position, just before the Super Bowl. Do you think that was a smart move? Not me. So, when talking about an offensive line collapsing in the big game, what did you expect?

Agree with you Ken. I'm curious what effect it will have on Wylie's career.

He got a RFA tender from KC - so unless a team goes after him he's probably on the chiefs roster next season.

I got antsy and couldn't wait. 03-lmfao

About a 1/3 or 1/2 (depending on how you scroll) are Covid outbreaks at college campuses.

B1G very well represented. #1 conference. I counted say 7 of top dozen.

Did they party too hard this past academic year? 03-banghead "party likes its 1999?"

Miami was the top MAC school.

UDM WBB saga continues. If I were the UDM president their AD would be gone. He screwed up with a MBB and WBB hire.

And this is also what is wrong with college sports. This player is headed to college #5. Kind of like Zsa Zsa Gabor and her husbands.

LSU, Tyler C.C., La Tech, UofM and UMass.

More like have transcripts, will travel.

How in the world is a guy like this a grad transfer? What was he "studying"? My guess is that they major in the simplest and most generic program possible. The athletic dept at his new school then strong arms the admissions dept at the new school to accept the credits from all previous stops, even if they don't actually qualify as credits towards the kid's major.

Monday has come and gone and i need to add this one...

At least one of our posters is a big soccer fan. Fmr. MAC school, Marshall, is actually the NCAA men's soccer champ for 2020/21.

So their futbol team is better than their football team.

MI has become a big winner in the efforts to help states with funds from Covid related rescue programs.

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/p...193799001/

Presumably the state can help those sectors, e.g., higher education, hit by the pandemic. Right?

O/T: Rocket Watts transferring from MSU to MSU. MSU can be Michigan State or Mississippi State.

Kids know how to move about. MI --> MS is a culture change, no doubt.
