For you guys who are in that 50+ years range...I only have one thing to say...this goes that long?

Lol. Just kidding. Congrats. I can only pray we make it together to 50. It’s been a fun ride for first 25 years.

1st date weekend was in college for the Superbowl in 2003 when Tampa Bay won, this past Superbowl my 3 kids thought it would be funny to recreate an 18 year old picture since Tampa Bay was back in it. We're both Bearcat grads and time seems to be flying 04-cheers

I sometimes...often...grieve that I will never get a chance to have that milestone (because pure math right now would say that I, at the least, would have to live past 100 just to get to 50 years right from this moment). That "Golden" Anniversary is just not in the cards for me.

I agree with Rath. Congratulations!!!

Our first date weekend was also at UC. I was so nervous I thought I had an upset stomach from nerves. Turned out it was the stomach flu and I passed it on to her.

And she still married me!

RE: OT: How long have you been married?
My wife and I have been married for 42 years. Of course, I’ve known her longer than that. We met in the 5th grade because we were in the same class. We started dating in high school. I’ve known her for 55 years.

I think I’ve mentioned it before, but I married way up and out of my league. In the Guinness Book, you can find my name listed under “Luckiest SOB Ever”

RE: OT: How long have you been married?
My wife and I are 10 years in. We had a pretty long courtship. First time I saw her was when I was an intern, presenting to my attending outside the patient room, she walked by and I lost all train of thought. I remember thinking I was going to have to find more reasons to go by ortho/trauma. Turned out she was in my sister's advance nursing class and we met at a nursing function my sister invited me to.

I started dating my wife in high school as well. We have been married 39 years. She has been a blessing to me and I'm a very lucky man.

So, what is it about the married cohort 21-25 years that shows the biggest number of blokes? Eleven of us. The next largest cohort are the younglings 1-5 years. 7 blokes. Keep working at it gents and it will be worth it in the end. Trust me.

21-25 years would probably put most of them into around the time of the Final 4/Elite 8 in the early to mid 90s, and 1-5 would more than likely be the people in college around the Sugar Bowl/Orange Bowl or growing up with the early 2000s teams. If you're passionate enough to post on a message board, you're probably passionate because something fairly large happened in your formative time.

Possibly because the 21-25 age range folk were the pioneers of the internet message board. Back when you had to dial up. I'm not sure how much the younger folk take to it.

Maybe I'm wrong, but most of my friends use Twitter to keep up with sports and not message boards.

This is true.

I tried to set up a message board this semester for my 2 classes of college seniors. They were awful at it - every thread was titled the same, and their posts would include 12 different ideas in one post. It was weird - I had done this 3 years ago with no issues, and I did it last year with only a moderate amount of difficulty.

So I used an anonymous poll to ask them how often they use message boards. Not a single student (out of over 60) used message boards more than once a month. Over a third said they'd never used a message board before.

Perhaps they were exaggerating to try to get out of the assignment (if so, it didn't work).

I remember in 93’ when I was 1st able to dial in from my house on Ohio Avenue to get into the library to read docs that the prof had us read as assignments via a page that looked like an electronic purple lithograph (remember the grade school math tests that you always smelled before starting?).

RE: OT: How long have you been married?
I was an internet pioneer in 1999. I met my future wife on a Yahoo Personals page. Started out as a just for fun email back and forth type thing. Then it became talking on the phone. Then it became me driving down to Alabama from Ohio to meet her in person. The rest is history 22 years later. Thank you Al Gore.

Just wait until they start sending emails at a company near you!
