Candle is going nowhere. No P5 team would hire him with his overall record even if he wins the MAC this coming season. And if he doesn't win the MAC I could see the new AD firing him.

TBN had 600K in a tweet, maybe they were going with raw information. In any event he's making middle of the pack money in the MAC (upper end of middle of the pack) but still slightly less than he would have made at Michigan.

More than anything I'm pleased with the buyout terms. Coach Mo likes to hop around and this gives us three years I think before he's a legit target anywhere else.

If he wins a MAC Championship and a P5 offer comes his way , he is leaving. No coach will pass up the big $ the P5 schools can pay.

I think it would have to be the right fit for Candle and his family. He already is the highest paid HC in the MAC...
He probably will take the Pinkel route and bide his time as opposed to a Tim Beckman who jumped at a high $$ big ten job with high expectations but ended up with low end results...

Not many coaches can take a P5 bad program like Matt Campbell did at ISU and completely turn it around. Candle will wait till the perfect job comes his way, before he leaves Toledo.

So what would be the perfect job ? If not the Big 10, SEC, perhaps the Big 12, AAC, PAC 12, ACC team ?
