CLEVELAND, Ohio – The MAC Council of Presidents approved a recommendation from the Council of Directors of Athletics concerning reinstatement of the following postseason tournaments, beginning with the 2021-22 academic year. In addition to the reinstatement of these tournaments, the volleyball tournament field has been expanded from 4 to 6 teams.
Men’s Soccer
Tournament Field – Four (4) Teams
Tournament Host – High Seed
Women’s Soccer
Tournament Field – Six (6) Teams
Tournament Host – High Seed
Field Hockey
Tournament Field – Four (4) Teams
Tournament Host – Previous year regular season champion (#1 Seed).
Volleyball

The Conference explored returning postseason tournaments that were paused for the 2020-21 academic year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“At my direction, I asked our Championship staff to create models of how we could return our postseason events,” said MAC Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher. “Conference tournaments are pinnacle events that provide lifetime memories for those involved. I am pleased we are able to reinstate these events for the student-athletes.”
