RE: New BB Arena For Marshall?
I think the Henderson Center still looks fairly nice. But, I've only seen it in pictures and have never actually been there. Even so, I hope you Marshall fans do get a new arena. New stuff is always nice for athletes and fans.

Inside is pretty nice and the floor and stuff. That said, the design prevents half the crowd from seeing the other half if high in the bleachers. The fact that there are bleachers is a negative. The ventilation was improved but still sucks and gets awful hot the top 3rd. The acoustics of the design are just bad and improved sound systems still struggle to be clear. There's always a jam at the main entrance and the side entrances don't lead right to the arena and involve a lot of steps. 2 main corridors limit the amount of concessions and restrooms, etc that would be greatly improved by a circular design. There is no connecting concourse on the east end so the concourse is basically a horseshoe which affects traffic (people) after the game and just general movement through the arena. Nothing by itself is terribly awful, but the combination of all these things and more makes it dated and useless in a lot of ways. It's just a really poor design. But I've seen a lot of ball there and never had a bad time. It's a wishlist kind of thing.

MUther - very small additional fact: There is a mid-level exit door on the east end that gets a lot of traffic. Lets fans out at street level. Is used to get in as well as exit.....

They do not usually let people in there, not supposed to anyway. The exit to stairwell a little further back is where the east side ticket takers are. And that's where the stairwell is that leads up to concourse or down to court level I mentioned. If the usher on the big doors knows you they'll let you in the other one but it's not an official entrance, only exit. That's what's neat about a coliseum style arena. They have entrances all around it and you can go in where you know your seats are and have a concession stand and amenities righy next to your section. Like I said....wishlist not a necessity.
