Why Did Biden Add 2.5 Million More Residents to Blue-State Population Count?
Quote:There is something very fishy about the new 2020 Census Bureau data determining which states picked up seats and which states lost seats.

Most all of the revisions to the original estimates have moved in one direction: Population gains were added to blue states, and population losses were subtracted from red states. The December revisions in population estimates under the Biden Census Bureau added some 2.5 million blue-state residents and subtracted more than 500,000 red-state residents. These population estimates determine how many electoral votes each state receives for presidential elections and the number of congressional seats in each state.

Is this a mere coincidence?

These population estimates determine how many electoral votes each state receives for presidential elections and the number of congressional seats in each state.

Remember, the House of Representatives is razor-thin today, with the Democrats sporting just a six-seat majority with five seats currently vacant. So, a switch in a handful of seats in 2022 elections could flip the House and take the gavel away from current Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats. A shift of 3 million in population is the equivalent of four seats moving from Republican to Democrat.

The original projections for the Census reapportionment had New York losing two seats, Rhode Island losing a seat and Illinois perhaps losing two seats. Instead, New York and Illinois only lost one seat, and Rhode Island lost no seats. Meanwhile, Texas was expected to gain three seats, Florida two seats, and Arizona one seat. Instead, Texas gained only two seats, Florida only one, and Arizona none.

Was the Census Bureau count rigged? Was it manipulated by the Biden team to hand more seats to the Democrats and to get more money—federal spending is often allocated based on population—for the blue states?

The evidence is now only circumstantial, but when errors or revisions are almost all only in one direction, the alarm bells appropriately go off.

Here are some of the strange outcomes in the Census revisions just released:

No. 1: New York—We’ve been tracking the annual population/migration changes between states since the last census in 2010. Over the past decade, New York LOST about 1.3 million residents on net to other states. (This does not include immigration, births, and deaths.) Still, this is a population loss that is the equivalent of two, maybe three, lost congressional seats. But the final numbers ADDED approximately 860,000. That’s roughly twice the population of Buffalo and Rochester—combined. This is the state that has lost by far the largest population over the past decade.

No. 2: Many deep-blue states had 2020 census numbers significantly revised upward from their December estimates: Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

No. 3: Many red states had 2020 census numbers lower than their 2020 estimates: Arizona, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

No. 4: Going back to the 2010 Census, the final head count in every state was within 0.4 percent of the original estimate, and 30 of them were within 0.2 percent. This time around, 19 states were more than 1 percent off, 7 were more than 2 percent off, NY was more than 3.8 percent off, and NJ was more than 4.5 percent off.

No. 5: Virtually every one of the large deviations from the estimates favored Democrats. Just five states in the 2020 census were within the same margin (0.41 percent) that all states were within from the 2010 census.

Maybe the 2010 estimates were abnormally accurate, or maybe the 2020 estimates were abnormally inaccurate. The Census Bureau needs to tell Congress why these revisions under former President Barack Obama were so much larger than normal and so weighted in one direction: toward the blue states.

Quote:The unexpected increase in the New York state population that emerged in the 2020 U.S. Census is casting a shadow of doubt on the accuracy of the final data, experts warn.

According to a preliminary analysis published this week by the U.S. Census Bureau, New York has more than 818,000 more residents than were predicted by the department's April 1, 2020, estimate. The official decennial count shows 20,201,249 residents, compared to 19,382,373 predicted by the Census Bureau a year earlier.

“What we can see here is that at the state-level there are big discrepancies,” Lyman Stone, a demographer who analyzed the report, told The Center Square. “If we make the case of New York, the count came out higher than what we would expect.”

New York had been losing residents, according to the bureau's annual estimates, since 2015, when the total was 19,657,321.

“The dislocations during COVID-19 might have affected the data,” Stone warned.

Amid the pandemic, the Census Bureau offered the chance to fill the census out online last year.

“Some people moved from NYC to upstate counties or surrounding states could create the opportunity for possible double counting,” Stone added.

In a statement released on April 26, Census Bureau Acting Director Ron Jarmin said that “the completeness and accuracy of these first 2020 Census results are comparable with recent censuses.”

One of the discrepancies that raised more doubts among the experts is the standard used by the Census Bureau report. According to the methodology statement, the report was supposed to be based on the estimates of July 1, 2020, by the Census Population and Housing Estimates program. Instead, it shows the numbers of April 1, 2020, separately published by the Census Bureau back in December.

“This example raises questions about how they used the method and if they modified something else, too,” Stone said.

Decennial census data is used to define the apportionment of House seats and how to allocate $1.5 trillion a year to the states in federal funding across 316 federal programs, a list that includes, among many, Medicaid and highway construction grants.

According to the Counting for Dollars Program 2020, New York received more than $73.3 billion in federal funding in 2016 through 55 programs guided by data derived from the 2010 Census.

“I think the discrepancies will have consequences for the control of the House in 2022, too,” said Marc Joffe, an analyst from The Reason Foundation, a libertarian think tank, in an interview with The Center Square. “Given the fact that there has not been that much movement of congressional seats from blue to red states, maybe it will be less likely that the House will shift over.”

As a result of the 2020 Census, the state lost one of its 27 congressional seats, one fewer than many analysts expected.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli's office said it does not comment on the discrepancies found in the 2020 Census count.

Quote:Republicans on the House Oversight Committee on Friday questioned ''political interference'' in the final census numbers used to determine the number of congressional districts in each state for the next decade, calling the Biden administration’s involvement ''surprising.''

''We write today with concerns about the apportionment count released by the Census Bureau, and whether the process which derived the count was fair, accurate, and independent from any White House interference,'' a letter sent Friday from 12 House Republicans to Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo reads.

''Given the extra time it took to complete the 2020 Census — including not meeting the statutory deadlines by months — we have questions about the methodology and the role the Biden White House may have played in releasing these numbers, especially as the results differ from evaluation estimates released mere months ago in ways that benefit blue states over red states.''

The Census Bureau on Monday released apportionment counts based on the 2020 census. Six states gained seats in the House — Texas, Colorado, Florida, Montana, North Carolina and Oregon — and seven each lost a seat: California, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

New York, New Jersey and Illinois – all blue states – far exceeded the previous population estimate in this week’s actual enumeration count. Red states like Arizona, Florida and Texas saw large drops from the December population estimates.

''The apportionment inhabitants outcomes launched by the Census Bureau are strikingly completely different from the inhabitants analysis estimates launched simply months in the past on December 22, 2020,'' the GOP members wrote. ''Remarkably, the variations profit historically blue states — which gained inhabitants in comparison with the estimates — over purple states which tended to lose inhabitants in comparison with the estimates.''

They added: ''For instance, New York was estimated to have a population of 19,336,776, but was attributed an apportionment population much greater than that of 20,215,751, a difference of nearly 900,000 individuals.

''Likewise, states such as New Jersey and Illinois experienced large population increases of hundreds of thousands of individuals compared to the December estimates, while states such as Arizona, Florida, and Texas experienced large decreases from the December estimates.''

Jody Hice of Georgia, Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin, Michael Cloud of Texas, Ralph Norman of South Carolina, Jim Jordan of Ohio, Paul Gosar of Arizona, Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, Bob Gibbs of Ohio, Clay Higgins of Louisiana, Fred Keller of Pennsylvania, Andy Biggs of Arizona, Andrew Clyde of Georgia, Scott Franklin of Florida, Jake LaTurner of Kansas, Yvette Herrell of New Mexico and Byron Donalds of Florida signed the letter.

Quote:Remember when Democratic leaders and media activists were pretending that Georgia’s voting laws were the new version of Jim Crow? Well, the latest Census figures show that the hard left is chock-full of bovine excrement.

Despite the left’s claims that stricter voting laws disproportionately prevent black people from voting, the data shows that voter turnout was at record levels in 2020. The Wall Street Journal reported:

Census figures released Thursday show that turnout in 2020 reached a near-historic high for a presidential election, with 66.8% of voting-age citizens casting ballots—0.9 percentage-points shy of the 1992 record.

Turnout was 5.4 percentage-points higher than in 2016, and 3.2 points higher than in 2008 when Barack Obama drove scores of young people and minorities to the polls. The share of Hispanics (53.7%) and Asians (59.7%) of voting age who cast ballots also hit new peaks. Black voting (62.6%) surpassed any presidential year save 2008 and 2012.

Not too shabby, right? But wait, there’s more. The Journal also wrote:

Notably, GOP states with stricter voting rules didn’t experience significantly lower minority turnout. Black turnout was highest in Maryland (75.3%) followed by Mississippi (72.8%) and lowest in Massachusetts (36.4%). Liberals have lambasted Georgia for “purging” voters and restricting ballot access. But Georgia had a smaller black-white voting gap than Illinois, New Jersey, Virginia and California—all states controlled by Democrats.

What’s interesting is the voting gaps in blue states. In these areas, the Democrats’ narrative is flipped on its head entirely.

From the Journal:

The states with the biggest black-white voting gaps? Massachusetts, Oregon, Wisconsin, Iowa and Colorado. Three allow same-day voter registration (Wisconsin, Iowa, and Colorado), according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Good luck trying to discern a link between a state’s voting rules, partisan control and minority turnout.

California is one of the easiest states to vote in. They allow same-day registration, ballot harvesting, and other accommodations for voting. In contrast, Arizona does not allow these practices. Still, it “had a higher turnout among all minority groups and smaller voting disparities with whites than California,” according to the Journal.

To further decimate the narrative being promoted by the so-called progressive left, a minuscule percentage of Americans who did not vote cited obstacles to voting as their reason. The Journal noted:

Democrats know their complaints are false, but they repeat them to energize apathetic voters. The top reasons Americans gave for not voting last fall: Not interested (17.6%), did not like candidates/campaign issues (14.5%), too busy/conflicting schedule (13.1%) and forgot (13%). Few cited an inconvenient polling place (2.6%) or registration problems (4.9%). Differences across racial groups were small.

The hard left has been lying about voting laws for years. But when Georgia passed its legislation at the end of March, they went into a frenzy, dishonestly claiming that it would prevent scores of black people from voting. They argued these measures were somehow akin to poll taxes and literacy tests used in the Jim Crow era.

But this study, like several others, reveals what most people already know: Voting laws do not prevent black people from casting their votes. I wonder how people will react when CNN reports on this – oh wait – never mind.

They cheated to win the election. Why is it any surprise that they now believe they can cheat on the census?

Probably just reversing the interference with the census for political reasons executed by the trump administration in 2020.

what is the point of doing a census if politicians (either party) are going to "revise" them anyways?
