Vikings cut Chapman, claim rookie TE off waivers
November 25, 2003
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- The Minnesota Vikings released running back Doug Chapman on Tuesday and claimed rookie tight end Richard Angulo on waivers from the St. Louis Rams.
Chapman, a third-round draft pick out of Marshall in 2000, was plagued by injuries throughout his career with the Vikings. He began training camp this season with a chance to be the featured back, but was never healthy and gained just 33 yards on 15 carries.
Angulo, a seventh-round draft pick by St. Louis out of Western New Mexico, appeared in six games for the Rams this season and played primarily on special teams.
