Malia Melton comes highly regarded out of Hebron, GA. Her father is ex-Rice owl, ex-CFL. ex-NFL player Terence Melton....her mother is Margaret (Fox) Melton who ran for Rice and ran for the Canadian Olympic team. Her aunt(Margaret's sister) played soccer for Nebraska. From what has been told to me she is as good as her aunt.

Malia is a multi-sport athlete as well...winning a state basketball championship, a regional soccer game, and going on to winning most of her events on the track all in ONE WEEKEND on successive days...she is exceptional.

Nightowl, if the Rice coaches aren't interested, I'm sure there's a good reason...like maybe some of her goals were wind-aided!

Give a call to the assistant coach and see what he/she says. Also send them the information you have. Send them two or three e-mails about the player and called a second time. I have done this a few times but every couch is different. Some will welcome it and some will ignore it. Just be persistent. Wait after the tournament.

She is also the schoolmate and basketball teammate of Malia Fisher, who is a Rice commit. So the school should be on someone's radar.
