The GOP needed to show it could make inroads into the suburban districts that left the party from 2018-2020. This was a good data point.

It’s also worth noting that there was a rabid Never Trumper candidate in this race. That person got glowing magazine spreads and tons of MSNBC and CNN time. Yet, they won less than 3% of the vote.

Let this be a lesson to Republicans. You don’t have to talk about Trump all the time or be full-blown MAGA, but if your entire political identity revolves around being “anti-Trump,” Republican voters will respond accordingly. That’s doubly true if you spend all your time on left-wing cable news bashing your own party. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger should probably take some notes after last night because they are headed for the same kind of trouble if either garners a decent primary challenger.

Cheri Bustos was given a (mildly) gerrymandered district in 2012, but it’s still been moving in a Red-direction. Then she was scapegoated for the Dems’ underperformance in House races 6 months ago. So it’s probably the right time to step aside.

Frankly, they should just get used to it. President Housplant didnt get 82 million LEGIT votes---and anyone who doesnt have an IQ hovering around the mid two figure range knows that. There was no mandate to this vote other than---dont tweet too much and be less divisive. The tin political ear shown by President Houseplant and the Democrat leadership's massive left wing Socialist overreach is nothing less than stunning.

The people arent there. The people dont want it. Its not what President Houseplant ran on. Its not what the American people voted for. They wanted an end to the daily Trump controversy. They didnt want a new circus on the border. The didnt want a new radical plan to destroy the mechanism that promotes compromise in the Senate.
They dont want two new states. They dont want the second amendment repealed. The dont want $5 a gallon gas. They dont want to start sending jobs overseas again. The midterms are going to be sobering for anyone who thinks Progressives represent some sort of American mainstream.

If the republicans get on the stick and pull their heads out of their asses. So far, they don't seem to be getting the word. 2022 and 2024 are now the elections that matter. 2020 is old news, like it or not.

So for now, resist as strongly as possible, and lay the groundwork for winning in 2022 and 2024.

Will be harder for Dems to cheat in 435 districts as opposed to the state level where they can commit voter fraud in 1 large inner city and flip the state (see Philadelphia Atlanta Milwaukee and Detroit 2020), but dont underestimate their level of corruption. 2.) District's been Red since 1983. Would need massive demographic change to go Blue
3.) Never Trump Republican candidate got 3 but ya gotta add that 3% to the Dems %. Still just 32% tho.
