EMU, MAC ugliness
Something like this is worse than simply being labeled G5.

The EMU player needs to be suspended for at least one game. I remember an NIU linebacker Jones-Davis poking a SanDiego State player in the eye a few years ago. NIU suspended him for the conference opener. I remember at the time thinking it should have been longer. Much depends on the player's past behavior and attitude re the incident.

RE: EMU, MAC ugliness
He clearly did step on the UW running back. I don't know if the statement by the UW OL about the same player spitting on UW players is true or not. Regardless, like what should have happened with the Toledo player taking that incredible cheap shot on Bowers, the MAC conference should step in and hand down a multiple game suspension on the EMU player. There is no place for this at any level of college football (or any other level). Being "young" is no excuse and the conferences need to take appropriate action to try and prevent this kind of outrageous conduct!

Funny you should mention poking another player in the eye. Here is what was said: "Wisconsin called Eastern Michigan among the dirtiest teams they’ve played. Several players singled out defensive lineman Turan Rush for his actions. He was caught on video stomping on Allen after his touchdown, sticking his fingers inside Graham Mertz’s facemask in the second quarter and tackle Tyler Beach said he spit in numerous players’ faces throughout the game."

Judge for yourself if the EMU player was sticking his fingers inside the facemask. https://www.madcitysportszone.com/2021/0...ute-drill/

It is hardly a good look for EMU being labeled "among the dirtiest teams they’ve played". Actually, it looks like it is just the one player. I'm sure the refs will be keeping a close eye on him.
