Saw an article in the Detroit Free Press regarding the Detroit Lions’ 4th round draft pick, LB Derrick Barnes. Stated that the 2 star recruit was originally committed to the University of Toledo until Purdue hired Jeff Brohm as their head coach in 2017. He sure would have helped our defense.

We can go on and on what might have been if such certain athlete football/basketball had become Rockets... Bottom line they didn’t, and we in the past, have garnered a few players who switched commitments and ended up excelling at UT and on to the pros...

This one stung reading his name on the draft board. I remember how big of a loss it was when he decommitted right after Purdue swooped in late. He took it just days before signing day. We really could have used him these past 4 years.
