ALMOND NAMED C-USA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - After registering a 227-yard, three-touchdown performance against TCU Thursday, Southern Miss redshirt-sophomore quarterback Dustin Almond was rewarded for his efforts by being named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week.

Along with Almond, Wesley Smith of Memphis was the defensive honoree and Nick Hayes of UAB was named the special teams recipient.

Almond, who has started each of the Golden Eagle's last five wins, was 14-of-23 for 227 yards and threw three touchdowns in the 40-28 nationally-televised win over No. 9 TCU that gave Southern Miss at least a share of the regular-season title. It was Almond

- I must admit, after the Nebraska game I felt that DA should never be allowed to throw a football again & that he should be moved to RB or TE.
