Such is the MAC.

I expect UB to be returning a lot of talent this year, tho.

Horrible move for him. He will be canned in two years. Kansas football is a garbage dump. He could have waited for a better gig in another year or two.

I can't imagine a worse job in college football, at any level.

The good news it that we open MAC play @ Buffalo on October 2nd, and their program might be in disarray after their coach leaving so late in the cycle.

Wonder if Leipold talked to Turner Gill before taking KU job.

Bye bye Lance. Bye bye to your football career as well. It is ruined.

Leipold is 56. He got a six-year contract at P5 money.

Offer like that may not have been there "in another year or two."

He was clearly heading Buffalo in right direction. No doubt an offer would come soon even if it’s a better group of 5 job. That’s better than taking what literally could be the worst power 5 job with no job security. Kansas has had 5 coaches since 2009. It screams desperate. I can imagine Kansas isn’t paying like Oklahoma. Or maybe he just wants to out in two years there, get fired, and retire. He sure isn’t getting a head job after this.

MAC annals are filled with coaches who had their programs "going in the right direction," stuck around, and got fired before the "better gig" came along.

That's because he was always focused on getting a nice gig elsewhere. If ya stay, ya gotta focus on it.

But our next coach I think turned down a potential gig, but we went downhill. He's not made to be an optimal long-term HC, but a good OC.

Cough.... Gary Darnell Cough....

Gary had probably the best career resume wise than any WMU coach with stops before and after WMU. No sh$it ball programs . He just never got that one he wanted

Yes, Darnell had been fired from some good programs before we hired him.
