The mental image of Pastner in 70's tennis whites and a headband made me laugh out loud.

This is an industry issue that is in no way unique to Memphis. Gannett owns about 250 newspapers, and they have all suffered a similar fate. Print advertising revenues are a fraction of what they once were, which has resulted in the gutting of local newspapers across the country.

In fact, Memphis is quite fortunate to have two publications.

Actually, the CA and Nashville’s Tennessean is based in Knoxville. The papers suck and is basically UT crap and three day old stories.

They have an office in Nashville but it’s printed in Knoxville, if I’m not mistaken.

It’s printed in Jackson.

It’s owned by gannet which is owned by new media group. No idea where new media is based but gannet is in McLean, VA - I’ve been to their HQ

No longer Jackson, TN though. Both the Jackson Sun and the CA were recently moved to Jackson, MS. The Tennessean is printed in Knoxville. Gannett and others have been consolidating print operations all over the country for years. I think the CA has always had a “bureau” in Nashville to cover state politics.
