Video is up now. Weather looks a lot nicer at the Reck than in the Hill Country (Comal County). But that's OK. The area needs the rain!

Garcia on the mound for the Owls. And the radar shows rain is on its way. Really got to wonder what these guys are looking at.

RE: USM vs the Owls
Bulman with lead off Ground Rule double down the right field line. Good start!

Garibay KS after failing to get bunt down early in the count. Grrr!

Karp KC on a pitch that looked high. More grrr!

Becker 5-3. Good start, bad finish.

RE: USM vs the Owls
Lead off double for USM in T3. Let's hope he stays there like Bulman did.

USM gets the bunt down that Garcia can't field. Runners on the corners no outs.

RBI single makes it 0-1.

And that friends, is the difference between a #22 team and a #206 team.

Suns out here now, and so am I.

I believe 1994 but there are more knowledgeable on this board but I think I’m close so that would be 26 years

That would be in the Southwest Conference where only 4 teams made the tournament. We won the last SWC tournament in 1995 or 1996.

Roel leaves after 5 innings down 5-0. Gallant comes in for the T6 and, as has been his norm since the second week of the season, immediately throws kerosine on the fire, and put the game totally out of reach....and the damage was done by the bottom of the USM order, with no one hitting above .250.

Rice pitching staff gives up 10 runs on 15 hits today. But hey, only 3 walks!

Still have a chance to split against a better team and program for the second weekend in a row, and that is something.

What was the "fishy situation" referred to in this RiceBaseball tweet:

M8 | Owls get out of a fishy situation as Southern Miss adds two more runs to their lead. Owls down 10-0 going into B8.

Is conference tournament out of the question this year or, what would need to happen to get in the tournament? Or better said what help do we need? I believe the top 3 from each division are automatic and the final 2 spots are based in CUSA winning percentages. We have UAB and Charlotte remaining after this weekend. UAB is winnable series but I don’t think Charlotte is this year. Grasping for some positivity here.

We're not eliminated yet but that could happen next week. I haven't seen anywhere where it's top 3 from each division - I'm assuming it's top 4 like they used in the other sports earlier this year. But regardless, it's likely that it will end up top 4 in each division based on how the standings look.

Currently, we're 6-16-1 in conference play - the teams ahead of us in our division are MTSU (3rd at 10-11-1), UTSA (4th at 10-12) and UAB (5th at 8-15). We play at UAB next weekend and honestly have no chance at making the tournament unless we win 3 of 4 there at a minimum.

We close out vs. Charlotte (the current Eastern leaders). The odds are not good at this point, but to quote Blutarsky "Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell, no!"
