Surprised by some of the results, thought Rice would be higher

You do realize there are over 3500 4 year colleges in the United States and then add in those around the world. anything in the top 1000 is great, and anything in the top 200 is amazing given the numbers. However I would take International Rankings with a HUGE grain of Salt. there is little that is Apples to Apples when comparing institutions in different countries.

It's all about methodology and data - several of these schools that you would expect to score much higher they simply don't have any data for in multiple categories. Pretty flawed (probably fatally so) ranking from that standpoint.

A lot of these rankings are. Many schools choose to participate in one ranking and refuse another so it skews the results. I am not a big fan of these type of rankings, but I always read them and that's what they want.

It is always interesting when posted. I will come on here like everyone else and rail against the methodology, but deep down, I want to know where my schools rank. Good stuff.
