Root Cause Of Illegal Migration Crisis Identified.

Harris hosted a video conference call with Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei Tuesday afternoon to discuss the migrant crisis, calling out violence against “women, Indigenous people, LGBTQ people, and Afro-descendants” in the country.
She said:
There are also longstanding issues that are often called the “root causes” of immigration. We are looking at the issue of poverty and the lack, therefore, of economic opportunities; the issue of extreme weather conditions and the lack of climate adaptation; as well as corruption and the lack of good governance; and violence against women, Indigenous people, LGBTQ people, and Afro-descendants.
Harris said she wanted to help Guatemala after describing the region as a source of violence against minorities and the host of poverty and corruption.
“We want to work with you to address both the acute causes as well as the root causes in a way that will bring hope to the people of Guatemala that there will be an opportunity for them if they stay at home,” she said.
Harris said the United States had a responsibility to improve living conditions for Guatemala.
“Part of the spirit behind our work is that, of course, the Western Hemisphere is our collective home, and the people in it and our neighbors — including the people of Guatemala — are nearby and we have a responsibility, therefore, to engage,” she said.
Harris is expected to travel to Guatemala in June to further highlight the migrant crisis after President Joe Biden put her in charge of diplomacy with Central American countries to help stop the flood of migrants coming to the Southern border.
The vice president has repeatedly claimed she is not in charge of the overall migrant crisis at the border but the “root causes” in countries like Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala.
“The president has asked Secretary Mayorkas to address what is going on at the border… I have been asked to lead the issue of dealing with root causes in the Northern Triangle,” she said at an event earlier this month.

From my days working in restaurants, there is some severe racism between Hispanic cultures. One of the more educated guys explained the native south American races that do not have a large amount of Spanish in their lineage look down upon the cultures with more Spanish influence. The Guatemalans I worked with absolutely detested the Mexican guys. Also was almost a dead split between Guatemalans/El Salvadorians in the kitchen and Mexicans in the busser roles

“Of the $310 million, $255 million will go toward humanitarian relief while $55 million will address food insecurity in the region,” the New York Post added.
In addition, the United States is pledging to help Guatemala train its border patrol and improve how the country cares for migrants who are sent back or return of their own volition, according to Politico.
“The U.S. will send 16 employees of the Department of Homeland Security to aid in the effort,” the outlet reported Tuesday. “The United States will also help Guatemala to build shelters for returned migrants and help the migrants transition back to life in their home communities.”
Harris, who was assigned to handle the ongoing migrant crisis at the United States’ southern border, has instead been focusing on what she terms the “root causes” of the uptick in immigration and, on Sunday, said that she would travel to Central America to view the situation firsthand, though she has no plans to visit the United States-Mexico border.
That situation, she said, is the Department of Homeland Security’s purview.
“In her opening remarks, Harris spoke about what she described as the ‘acute causes’ of the spike in migration — hurricanes that battered the region last fall, a persistent drought, and the coronavirus pandemic — as well as ‘root causes’ like the lack of economic opportunity in the region, extreme weather conditions and government corruption,” Politico noted.
Harris did not reference President Joe Biden’s executive orders loosening the Trump administration’s immigration restrictions.
Although the issue is no longer commanding headlines in the mainstream media, the so-called child migrant crisis is ongoing. According to the Los Angeles Times, nearly 20,000 child migrants were picked up crossing the border in March — a record. The problem is not limited to children; according to National Public Radio, which leans left, more than 170,000 illegal immigrants were taken into border patrol custody during the same time period — “the highest monthly total since 2006.”

- Dems need to replace the electorate that won't elect their party, causing them to have to cheat. If you can't persuade them, replace them with a bunch grateful to be let into the USA and who know which party did it.
- A loud, unmistakable invitation was issued by slo Joe Buyden when he was "campaigning" from his basement. He made it clear that they could just come right in once he was in office.
