It always amazes how there are some "fans" on here that can't stomach even modestly positive news about the program. WTH are you even fans?

I would argue that true fans should not settle when things could be better with a different conference.
I love that our teams tend to be competitive (football will need to get back to that).
I also love that these stats show how well our Men's Basketball has done in conference play. My stance never for one second said that our win percentage isn't a good thing and that it shouldn't be praised.
But thankfully there are others like myself who do more than cheerlead.
We have all of these wins but not much to show for it. It almost feels like wasted years.
If that's too much of a debbie downer for you then tough crap.

Yes and all the batching and moaning and whining about CUSA has really led to substantial change. You think griping about it is going to change it. You're wrong, and that's tough crap for you.

I think it says more about how difficult it has been for ODU to win a CUSA title, which probably also tells us that this league is stronger, not weaker.

My view is that having this high of a win percentage in a "good" conference would have earned some outright bids or at least consistent bubble talk. While I do think C-USA is tougher/better than the media's perception, the end result speaks for itself. Regardless if it's perception or another cause, this is a one-bid league. You take our win percentage to some other conferences and we would have been dancing a heck of a lot more.

I think we all agree with that, but I think what this was supposed to indicate, more than anything, is that we don't suck as much as some people think we do, and in fact, during our tenure in the conference we have won more games than any other team. We are a consistent winner and, in general, have avoided the ups and downs, in our record, that other teams have experienced. I know we don't have the championship and post season bids that ll of us hope, but for kids who are looking to play and to win, we are a good place to be.

I hear you and agree completely. I just wish we had more to show/more of a reward, for the success we've had. I think our conference has not done us any favors. And again, that's not me saying that the conference doesn't have good teams. It's just the nature of being in a one-bid league.

That's all we as fans can do. Welcome to sports.
We just hope those with power hear enough of us.
And while it may come across as whining, it's more of an effort then turning a blind eye to a bad situation that we find ourselves in with C-USA.

WKU beat Alabama on the road last year too. Alabama was a top 5 team most of the year

WKY the Atlanta Braves of CUSA basketball. Just cannot get it done in the post season.

Webster, if you think this or any other administration is going to take seriously the moaning of 10-12 anonymous internet posters . . . Wanna do something potentially constructive? Get a hundred or so people not adverse to posting their names and go directly to the school. Then come here and tell us about it. You might have better luck.

When I have complaints about the direction of the program, I request a meeting or phone call with Selig before releasing my donation money.

When you talk to Wood, ask him why Norfolk State baseball is on ESPNU and ODU baseball (top 25) only can get C-USA TV. Looks like national interest for Norfolk State on TV, shows more interest than Wood can provide for AP 25 ODU baseball.

That’s great, but it’s not an option afforded to most of us. The other 99% are relegated to sounding off in here.

I've had communication with Broderick, Selig, and our new President Hemphill.
I'm not some rich donor who can wield power. But at least I know my thoughts went to those who can do something about it.
Regardless, the point of this message board is to talk about ODU sports. The good & the bad. By your logic, you would mark yourself a hypocrite if any of us can find one post from you being critical of anything.

If you’re a donor, you can talk to an ODAF rep and ask those questions or raise those concerns. I’m not the richest donor, but I talk with my rep quite a bit. My relationship with my rep started out with simple questions and it’s built a lot over the years. It might not work out that way for everyone but if you don’t try, you’ll never get there.

I've said hoops needs to go in a different direction, and I've said it to folks in the administration and I've said the conference is draining peoples interest. So, yeah, I'm a hypocrite, thanks for letting me know.

Also over what a 10 year period? If you want to start getting multiple bids the resume needs to look more like that in a single year.

How many of the above were top schools? I honestly don't know other than Syracuse was a bubble team the year we beat them and LSU I believe was an 8/9. Nice wins for sure, but in the past we have gotten a handful of similar wins in a single season. We've had 3 in the last 10 years, if you count the VCU win the season we beat them when they were good.

All of them. I didn't even count the high ranking mid major wins since some of you guys only see the name on the front of the jersey.
