I realize that Marco Rubio has very few supporters in these parts. But, at least for me, his commentary in today’s New York Post makes sense:

To me, both left and right in today’s binary climate exhibit a dangerous “baby with the bath water” approach to American businbess interests. Both sides view large corporations as inherently dangerous. Given recent corporate behavior, that is more than understandable. Big enterprises are capable of making big problems, problems that would not be so big if the corporations were smaller.

But so would the resulting payoff.

Is this simply because we’ve allowed the corporations to become so big? Or is it because they’ve lost the touch with the American values that enabled them to thrive and grow? I think I understand Sen. Rubio to be saying that it’s the latter, and that big is not inherently bad.

I will be interested to read the counterarguments.

There's a reason the founding fathers didn't like corporations. What we're seeing today is that reason.

I think that becoming too big and losing sight of the values that allowed them to prosper are intertwined and cannot be separated. Too big is definitely bad. They become essentially self-governing entities.

No argument here. I don’t trust Sen Rubio, but his words here are spot on.

Rubio is excellent as a US Senator. I don’t believe he really has what it takes to win a presidential election, though.

The modern form of corporations didn't even begin to exist until the 1790's and are still nothing as we see today.

Agree. However, he's staking this position because he needs to differentiate himself from Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis for 2024.

I used to like Rubio but his support of expanding H1B shortly after Walt Disney World was exposed for violating the H1B program turned me against him.

The leadership of the left embraces whatever is expedient for them, the rank and file embrace whatever they are told to by those same dear leaders, kind of like you. Effin maroons.
