Good for Ty! I’ll be a temporary Butler Bulldogs fan for a year.

RE: Thank You Ty Groce!
He started as a freshman and spent the next three years looking over his shoulder for any mistake he made that would send him to the bench.

Mark my words, Ty Groce will be the most successful pro player of the Murphy era. It will probably be overseas, but he is better than Lee or Thompson.

Agree with you Jerry, but all 3 were never developed! JTIV was the same player as a senior as he was as a freshman! Actually, statistically they were worse his senior year! Without looking it up did Lee, JTIV, Bond, and Groce play one year together? Stan Heath won't recruit much better then that at the MAC level! I guarantee his offensive system will be better!

RE: Thank You Ty Groce!
I hope that Ty picked the correct school because according to this article, there are many seniors on the team. All of us knew that Groce was a P5 talent. Tourre was also a P5 talent.....Among several other players in Murphy’s system that didn’t work.

Agree. Hope he gets PT. Transferring is always 'hit or miss.'

Why Butler of all places? Head scratcher.

Why not? Whom do you suggest?

Butler is reasonably close to home and in a very good basketball conference.

They’ve got a really good head coach who is really good relationships with his players.

Minnesota was my suggestion. He would have played a lot more and gotten more exposure.

But hey, he might just want to actually win something.

Agree. Northeastern did not work out, perhaps because it was much further away. Ty's BB future is probably overseas, Butler is a "baby step" to test the water for him.
Playing in a Power 6 conference also will give him far greater exposure than the MAC to pro scouts in Europe or Asia.

Yes, I agree. Was originally trying to keep things on a positive note for Ty’s sake, after all he is going to a Big East school. But thought Big Ten or other P5 would have been more exposure given relative sizes of schools. Plus Butler is a bit of a newbie to the Big East and had a poor record last year. Nonetheless, he must have his reasons for Butler- and certainly not a bad situation.

EDIT: Just read Jerry’s post. Minneapolis is probably further away from home than Boston was...
