Chris Vogt substitution? Seems to shoot the FT and block shots better.

Better shot blocker: #3 in all college basketball in block percentage during his lone season at UNCG. Has made 130 3pt shots in his career as well.

He moves better than Vogt as well.

Here are some highlights his freshmen year at Central Arkansas.

He had the 29th best kenpom offensive rating in the country. He had the 3rd best block rate in the country. 80% free throw shooter. Scores efficiently around the basket. Decent jumper. Just an ok rebounder for his size but fills a huge need. We need to bring in more options inside.

I will never understand how Vogt and Keith Williams appeared to have not practiced shooting free throws and mid range jump shots every day during their brief time trying out for the NBA. They both shot the worst of their life their senior year. Free throws should be easiest shot to make. Guess there aren't a lot of Steve Logans or Steve Alfords in the basketball programs today.

While Vogt wasn't really someone who "pushed around" people on the inside, he outweighs Koval by 40 pounds. This may be the main reason why this kids' just an ok rebounder for his height. Probably gets outmuscled a lot by thicker dudes. Season best was 8 rebounds in 1 game.

I believe in 3 of Vogt’s 4 years playing his FT % was in the 30’s...he was often like a turnover at the FT line which is why he rarely saw the court in close games down the stretch.

Decent pickup. He does need to learn to spell his new team name, however!

Koval's ft and 3 pt stats are better or as good than as most of our current backcourt guys at 7'1. LOL

He will certainly be a replacement for Vogt. Coach Miller has just been here a week, so it's understandable the new additions and the assistant coach have not been earth shattering announcements. It will be interesting to see if he can get a nice surprise transfer or recruit.

Yeah while it might not be the most exciting get, this late in the cycle with so many spots open I'm fine with a 1-year guy who fills a positional need. Also, with his relatively rare combo of 3 point shooting and rim protection, he seems like the kind of guy who could create mismatches for certain opponents.

Honest ask since i didn't watch the SoCon but how would Memphis and WSU fared in that league by your estimation?
