My only concern is the Lawson brothers are little bit of the same we had in DJ-type player. A wing player that is trying to make it to the NBA, but is on the slow-side and would rather shoot jumpers than to drive to the hoop and finish with authority. I hope they have a better motor and are more aggressive with the ball in their hands than what we've had. I'd be more willing to give Jonathan a pass this year bc he is just a freshman, but Chandler needs to bring it this year. I'm going to support them bc their success should equal Tigers success.

Go Tigers!

Chandler played for Penny... so he knows what Penny wants put of him.
He wasn't being utilized well @Oregon.

Assuming you haven't seen them play. Neither is like DJ. (BTW, DJ was really good before his injury.)

Chandler is not a wing. He is a non traditional post, but he won't be taking any 3's. His strengths are defense and rebounding. He can guard 4 or 5 and can effectively switch PNR. He can also take the ball full court and can lead the break off a defensive rebound. If he keeps developing he can be a Deandre Williams type player. Might be a better passer already than Williams.

Jonathan plays like a traditional scoring point guard or combo guard. His height makes him more versatile than most traditional guards though. Penny's offense doesn't have a defined 3 position necessarily, but he wouldn't be that anyway. I would guess he will be guarding the opposing team 1&2 most of the time.

So he's the one that couldn't hardly get on the court at Oregon for 2 years but he's already a better passer than Williams? I get them confused but I struggle to believe he's better than Williams at passing. Williams might be our best pick and roll passer.

I don't think so either. Chandler had 22 assists in 28 games last year while Williams had 72 assists in 21 games. I know numbers don't always tell everything but the disparity is huge.

I did not view the video but hard to get anything out of his performance in beating a 9-20 Cal team twice by double digits. He had 7 points and 8 rebounds total in the two games while he averaged 16 minutes off the bench.

Not advocating that either is better, however two different offensive philosophies will render totally different results.......Maybe Penny sees that Chandler can be of the same mold/type player as Deandre and wants to build off of that 03-idea Pretty obvious what our team was lacking when Deandre was off the floor....Now with Chandler that momentum may continue #Depth 04-rock 03-cloud9
