All we know is that Jayden WAS certainly on scholly his freshman year. And every year after that, there has been a scholly available. So there is no reason to think his scholly was pulled.
It might be pulled now if Cisse comes back, and Malcolm stays. Or if we land another transfer. But I'm betting neither of those happen.

Our best runs down the stretch came without a true "1" or a true "5" on the court.
I'd love to see a big-time PG too. But we can go to battle as is, and still beat everyone we have scheduled.
This is a top 25 roster and an NCAA team.

I'm either told those types of things and keep in confidence or I do not really bring those types of questions up. Most HCs and Asst coaches don't really want to talk sports when you eat or drink with them so I stay away unless they want to just bring things like that up. I didn't mind asking about Jayden because I really didn't know and didn't really watch sports a lot this past year.

I do know Penny has never really spoken to Jayden scholarship situation since he signed with Memphis...Not sure why the previous poster would say Penny said he was not on scholarship.

That's talking about NEXT year. Some keep insisting Jayden was a walk-on LAST year. I don't think that's the case, because there was no reason to pull his scholly. We had one available.

The NCAA is allowing a scholly limit increase for football next year for 5th year players. But they have not indicated the same allowance in basketball. If they were going to increase the limit, it's probable they would have already announced it since signing periods are closing and rosters are being finalized.

But it's the NCAA, so who knows...

I hope the young man makes a ton of money for himself and his family after one more year at Memphis. My guess is the NBA feedback will point to one more year of experience. He is still a young man and will definitely put on some size over the next 3 to 4 years.

I watched a game on Youtube yesterday with TIMBERLAKE playing I guess in 2020. He looked really good then. If his injuries have not affected him too much he could really be a good player for the Tigers. He and the Big 7ft center they had were killing it.
