Happiness is a choice. It is not foisted upon us according to the composition of any particular sports team.

Don’t you blasphemy in here! Don’t you blasphemy in here! You can walk right out that door without your dry, white toast, without your four fried chickens, and without Tari Hoops Eason.
Sorry to see that Eason won’t be coming back. I remember when I was his age. It wasn’t, and still isn’t easy making life decisions. I wish him well at LSU.

Is the upperclassman our coach got in Day 5 a good start?

Seems like it. What do you think?

Based on his pre-injury year, he seems to be a long, highly active wing...but absolutely cannot hit the three as he is a career 29.5% 3 point shooter. Seems to be a secondary option with good length and high defensive upside...the kind of guy you want in your starting lineup to support the stars, but will likely never be a primary option except for spells during a game or two.
He kind of seems like a more defensively inclined version of Keith Williams actually...probably a very decent comp. Good pickup for sure, especially with two years of eligibility left, and allows for JD to move down the lineup to a stretch 4/hybrid forward option...we need a 5/post presence like nobody's business now though

A couple of things that stand out from Kenpom:
Fouls committed per 40 rose by 1.2 from his sophomore to junior year
Fouls drawn per 40 dropped by 0.8 from his sophomore to junior year
FT rate dropped by 21.6 from his sophomore to junior year
If you can't stay in front of offensive players or get by defenders off the bounce as well, then something is up with your legs. Hopefully his knee is fully recovered because his sophomore year tape shows a phenomenal athlete. I don't think Keith Williams is a terrible comparison based off that tape. Although Newman looked to have much better vision compared to underclassmen KW.
