Ps- if Miller can get Tari Eason back in the fold... then Holy Sh!t!
True we will have back most of the pieces that lost twice to UH by 40. Sensational!

We were spotting them at least 20 pts with Brannen on the bench.

No excuse to get beat by the amount we did, but Houston was an Upper Classmen/Senior led team with final 4 talent and probably the 2nd or 3rd best team in the country. Also, they wanted some payback after the last 2-3 years of us.
Our core of young guys I was pleased with especially for Freshmen.

Better thicken the skin up. That dead fleabag is going to take a well deserved beating all year.

"LOL"?? I doubt everyone under the Athletic Department's budget shares your sense of humor. We already cut the new coach's salary and we've barely made a dent in the $5M. Something has to give - it's simple economics.

I guess I'm agreeing with Doss though that these guys were only about mid-pack level good and even though they showed a little promise near the end, they confirmed that they were in no way even close to Houston... and that's where we need to be.
We still need A LOT more on this team.
I mean we have talked in circles on this subject, but people are aware that Saunders and Madsen were freshman who likely were not ready for a team with as much experience as Houston? Both those guys were thrown into rolls they likely were not ready for as freshman.not every freshman is going to be able to contribute at a high level.

absolutely need a talent upgrade. The guys coming are solid role players that could become stars but this roster needs all league guys now
plus side is that our new coach won’t be looking for to fill every role this spring now, just a few key parts.
basically if you lose all those guys that entered the portal you are looking to fill just about every spot on roster outside of three spots

Be careful bringing facts to the discussion of our losses to Houston. Facts destroy the narrative so loudly created.
The key point is if we want to compete at a high level now we need to experienced players. Trying to build with frosh takes time. Clearly our fan base is not patient enough for this approach. If Brannen made a mistake it was trying to build a team from the bottom up. Getting Eason back would be nice, but totally insufficient to make us what this board wants. And oh btw, as for his plsying time - think quickly he accumulated fouls. Facts are so tough.

I'm good with him coming back, he can play at this level. And opposing team message boards often go apeshit when he makes a few shots, which can be a pleasant read.

Bob, Brannen is no longer the coach. Take the L and move on

All this bickering is sad. Let’s get behind our new coach and drop the Cincinnati cynicism until we really need it.

What experienced players were we going to have on the roster next season if Brannen was still coach? The entire team basically quit.

RE: Madsen back!
My point is simple. If we want a happy board we need a team with a significant component of upper classmen.
