Let me know YOUR spring game situation. Can you watch the action online?
I would like to know from each of our conference brethren, if you have already had your spring game, was it available to watch on twitter, or Facebook, or YouTube, or even a network? If you have yet to hold your spring game, do you anticipate it being available to view without actually being there?
Reason I ask... Memphis just had ours last night, and it was broadcast over Facebook. When we got home, I went to Facebook to watch the replay, and it was nothing more than 1 1/2 hours of staring at the side of Dave Woloshin's head in the freaking pressbox. So I started reading the comments. People were complaining in real time, and finally some dude came on the comments and answered that "it was for legal reasons" that they couldn't show the action on the field.

A lot of coaches prefer not to broadcast them, b/c it gives early opponents film they would otherwise not have. Plus, there are local contract rights with some schools that prevent the airing of spring games.

Small time thinking. Apparently that doesn't apply to Florida State?

ECU's situation is very weird. We had another COVID pause during Spring camp, which bumped the timeline of the Spring game that was supposed to take place last Saturday the 17th. I think the administration was worried about the cost associated with putting the game and all the activities associated with it on with a timeline that could move again, so it was officially cancelled.
Now the "second scrimmage" of Spring is happening this coming Saturday. In an interview after last weekend's scrimmage, the coach dropped this little nugget to the fans. Fast forward to 1:55.
Quote: "Well we're gonna have one. We're having one next week at 1 o-clock in Dowdy Ficklen Stadium. Whoever wants to come can come."
So word is getting around. I'm not sure how many fans are going to head to Greenville this weekend, but a bunch of us are going to give it a shot to see some Spring football. Baseball against UCF is at 4pm the same day, so at least might be able to catch that if the football stadium is locked up.

Please explain. Because I don't believe it. I think it's an excuse. I think if there ARE such contract rights, a simple payment would be all that is needed.
